Great 1st Python session

My son really enjoyed his 1st week learning Python code. He commented several times that his coach/tutor was excellent and really connected with him. The timing and content seemed very age appropriate. we will be back for more courses in summer holidays!!

Good Quality

I learned a lot of new things and it improved my coding ability significantly. The way you learn is fun.

The week

I enjoyed this week. I did find the file opening good and easy to undertsand. But i enjoyed all the topics and it was fun week. I also learnt a lot. I did find tkinter hard at the start but towards the end i found it good and i feel i am at a good stage at tkinter and i really enjoyed this week.

It was exciting as I was able to create so many different possibilities with the new function of a window through python; it gave me a chance to see how people create games and animations through python, my project that I created was a CPS tester and has different achievements as well as a graph ...

it was a great camp and I managed to understand almost everything thanks to my tutor, who was great and really supportive and also helped with my general understanding of python in general and helped me consolidate my basics. :)

This camp was very fun and interesting and my tutor was the best and very chill and very funny so 5 star

A wonderful time at funtech

What I can say is that you really should do funtech. Before you think coding is boring, this camp makes it fun, and it also educates you about coding really well. I highly recommend it, and I also love how fun the coaches are (from past experience).

Good course

We made a lot of projects; I enjoyed making them, and the teaching was also efficient. I also understood everything. We mainly made platformers and pong games, and it was very fun overall.

FunTech October Half Term

We thought that Hope was an excellent tutor for William. She even did extra sessions when he missed the class. William really enjoyed the week and learnt a lot during the camp. We are impressed with his progress in python. William is very keen to do another camp in the future. Thank you so much.

He is Year 9 and he said the content was too easy, slow pace, but I think in reality it was the right starting point for him and a good space to jump in (as well as what he covers in school). We intend to put him into the advanced course some time later this year.

3D Game Programming

The course was well structured with a balance of interaction, individual work and screen breaks. My son came away very positive and proud of some of the things he had achieved in the week and would do another one.

Part2 - Python Course

I thought it was really fun. I found it very interesting and I learnt a lot of things about lists, algorithms, ranges and really enjoyed bubble sort and linear search.

we had a 15 min break each hour, I think the strictness(even though not very strict) and explaining was on spot.

Funtech Part 2 Python

It was really fun, and knowledgeable which taught me so many things about Python. We learnt about lists, while loops, for loops, indexes, algorithms (bubble sort and linear search) and so much more... Also, the teacher had a positive impact on the lesson.

Review

I truly enjoyed this camp. This is my second time at FunTech and i genuinely learnt so much and had so much fun. I enjoyed the lessons, the tutor and the other student were a pleasure. I hope to return to FunTech again sometime soon!

It was really fun and I had a great experience. My tutor was really nice and he made me learn more than i would with a normal teacher. He was by far the best tutor i have ever had as he did not even scold anyone once even though we could be a bit annoying. It was a memorable experience.

the python course was really helpful!

the course helped me fully understand everything we went through, and it was fun to do all the different games in python.

Overall it was very interesting and puts you through many things . Teaching was quite clear overall and clear though it does get progressively harder thoughout the course.It was very well planned and fun. I had a good time.

Good, well structured tutoring. Tutors ensure the students understand the concepts being taught with catchup lessons offered if a child needs more time to grasp the concepts.
My daughter's confidence in computer science continues to grow. She was able to take up a self directed GCSE computer science course, sat the GCSE early and got an 8. Understood all questions in the paper except for one. As a parent, this gives me confidence the investment in the course is worth it.
