adequate help was provided throughout the course, at the beginning, the complex topics werent explained well but as time went on, they were revisited and gone over, reinforcing our knowledge

It was fine. Slightly more boring than Unity

It was good but overpriced.

I did enjoy Funtech a lot, I found it fun and my tutor taught me the basics of unity quite well. I do think the price is just too high for the relatively small amount that you learn.

I did provide verbal feedback to one of your colleagues after the course but I'll try and summarise it, seems a long time ago already! Sophocles had been looking forward to the course for months and he enjoyed his time. The first morning was a little frustrating as despite the reminders you had sent, some children arrived without the correct software installed which delayed the start of the session. The pace of the first day was slow as the course caters for a wide age range and ability of children and there were no extension activities to complete, but he didn't make this known to the tutors. This improved on the second day after he had asked for further activities. They spent a long time in the same room, not sure if they went out much at breaktime and lunchtime to make the most of the school's play areas. I'd also have a mobile phone policy where the children hand them in and get them back at the end of the day otherwise they spend their freetime on more screens rather than engaging with each other. I know that all sounds negative, sorry it's not meant to be - overall it was something different for Sophocles, not something he would otherwise have learned about, and he is hoping to go into cyber security as a career so your tutors definitely did lots right (and it was great to see that they weren't all male

The fun-tech lessons as a whole were very interesting and even though some of the lessons were quite difficult i enjoyed them.

The overall course was fun.
There were parts that were a bit boring but when learning something there always is.
I enjoyed making the games the most.
Especially the rock,paper scissors and the end of course games.

In "Fun typer", the website they use, fun typer is interactive, educational and makes you want to improve your speeds and typing. The younger kids struggle with this though. This course is middling (in my opinion) for a one main reason: the first few days of content were boring. There's no way around, days one and two, and parts of day 3, consisted of copying code of the board and being told things. However, the final two days were excellent, and I had plenty of freedom to have fun. Despite this, while I learnt a lot of concepts related to AI and neural networks, I didn't learn much specific coding. On the other hand, the tutors were very helpful and approachable (even when my question had little to do with AI as opposed to coding in general), had great taste in music (which they played during boring stretches to create atmosphere), and were happy to slightly adjust the schedule so that I could learn most of the important code despite a dentist appointment, and managed to make a accommodations for my Autism and ADHD that didn't affect other students. Break and Lunchtimes were frequent ut not excessive, and hugely reduced stress- not to mention the fun (but optional) activities (such as dodgeball and capture the flag) during lunchtimes. However, break/lunchtimes were, despite the tutor's best efforts, were still somewhat noisy/stressful. Overall: 8/10 for fun (due to somewhat stressful break/lunchtimes), 5/10 for tech (due to me learning little actual code).

This course is not quite as fun as i expected

Unfortuatly i felt that this course did not manage my expectations for it and i found that the lunch break was way too long and the breaks in between working times were too frequent.

Cons: the coursework is tedious at times, with the games getting boring after an hour or so. The sessions feel rather long and get tiresome after a few of them. In summary, this course was not my favourite, and could be improved.

This was our first time at a FunTech residential camp, although my kids have been going to sleep-away camps for years.
Competent, well-trained staff and very nice facility.
For the price I was expecting more: surprised that it wasn’t a full week (5 nights only); no swag (typically a camp will send you home with a t-shirt or water bottle—my son only got a silicone bracelet.
FunTech could have at least included a USB which would have been on-brand instead of have kids bring their own); and the communication wasn’t great—the email published in the brochure was outdated and I called the number and left a message, but no one answered or replied.
Overall it was a good week of coding for my son but operations could be improved, especially given the price tag.

I loved it but also not

We had to sit in the hot sun and had way too many breaks. Although the staff were really nice.

the course was pretty fun altogether. what let it down was the reinforcement of some of the skills because i felt like i didn't get enough time to reinforcement some of the skills until near the end of the course.
