Java Coder

This was an excellent course....this was the first fun tech course that we have done and it won't be the last. The tutor was exceptionally clear and very engaging. We hope to do something similar over the summer.

Caring staff

My child enjoyed the programme very much. What impressed me was when my child was late in attending one morning, one of the staff quickly called to check/remind.

I hope the residential camp would reopen soon.

This was my 9 and 11 year old daughters' first Virtual Camp. They both really enjoyed their classes and were really looking forward to the sessions each morning. They were kept engaged throughout the sessions and were very complimentary of the instructors. The instructors also seem very committed to their learning, with one of then calling after class to check that one of them had understood an area that she had questioned during class.

Python game developer

My son did the python game developer course with fun tech in the Easter break. The course was laid out and executed well. He thoroughly enjoyed it and learned a lot along the way.

Our son loved it

He had a great time, was super proud of his Roblox creation - and all, in all, money well spent. The team are very professional.

The course requires a bit of pre-installation to get going but the instructions were pretty clear and we were able to get going on time. The course requires a bit of pre-installation to get going but the instructions were pretty clear and we were able to get going on time. Unfortunately the first half day was spent it seems with trying to get everyone else up to the same level. Once the course got going Jacob found it very simple and I often found him playing on his phone whilst waiting for others to catch up. The course did get more challenging for him but he always seemed to be sat around, waiting for others to catch up. This was the main disappointment for me, he is obviously more capable of going faster and have more challenging work set, but the course has to get everyone along at the same pace. Such a shame - he has the same issue at school, so not just a Funtech thing. But I feel that adding in extension exercises or bringing in concepts like test driven development, documentation generation, things like that would keep the more able engaged and off their phones.

I myself am in IT and thought the curriculum was a little light, and the stuff that they were coding, whilst teaching the basics, didn't seem to be engaging or exciting. Python has some great gaming libraries and graphics capabilities so it would have been good to see something at the end of the week where the students plot a graph or draw a pie chart or navigate a skier down a slope or similar.

But, at the end of the day, when asked, Jacob said he enjoyed the course and learned something new. And that's what it is all about. So no complaints - take the above as suggestions.

My first virtual camp. I'll be back!

Funtech was very fun learning how to create "redstones" mechanisms and now I can apply those learnings in my own worlds. The teacher was very understanding and helpful throughout the lessons.

There was no need for the worry because Chiamaka was the best teacher for her.

Fantastic use of time

I really enjoyed doing the coding over the Easter break. I liked that the classes were held in the morning so I could still enjoy my Easter holidays in the afternoon.

Really enjoyed learning how to develop my 3D game

I really enjoyed doing the coding over the Easter break. I did the course with my sister and it was great fun working on our games.
I am looking forward to continuing to practise what I learnt on this course and hopefully doing another course soon.

Minecrafts MODS

This course started with the basics, which was good. The tutor was really supportive and gave us time to complete each task.

Funtech

Funtech is really awesome everyone is kind and it is very fun and the people that train explain very well and I understood everything and even built my own escape room game that is why I gave this 5 stars!

what we have learned

we learned whow to script and whow to make levels and make objects, like a swing or a door or a spring. and to make terain and to delte stuff nad to paint on maps. thats what we learned

Good experience!

I have enjoyed Fun-tec quite a bit.
I even created my own project.
I now know how to use some GUI.
I have learnt quite a few things.
like... another way to publish a game.
I also now know some stuff about Lua coding.
I recommend that you give the roblox game developer lessons ago .

Really well taught

Overall this corse has been great and really fun as well. If you are struggling they are always willing to help you, hinting an answer to you or re-explaining it. They make the learning fun by some times including game and I think its a good corse to try.

For this year in Funtech, I've found that my knowledge of coding has heavily increased from what it used to be. Thanks to the course, I was able to learn way more than I already knew about python coding (which wasn't a lot). Overall, the lessons have been great. Every lesson I attend, I come out of it knowing more and more which has been highly beneficial. The tutor there was also very good at teaching and showing us how to do certain types of code, if we didn't understand the video, the tutor would help us once we asked for it, which was very useful. With everything, I think that this course was very useful and will help me with future coding.

I really like FunTech:
FunTech helps you learn all about computers and making games, and they have really funny and nice teachers.
And you also get summer courses to make stuff in minecraft or roblox or.. orr.. or.. there are so many!!!!!!

Nice Course

This is a great course, it is enjoyable and fun, from the very first lesson, it is very nice, and I liked it.
It can be difficult at the start, simply because you haven't done python before, but you will learn easily.

FunTech definitely makes me feel like I might be one of those few. With its interesting videos and great teaching so its rarely too easy or too difficult, you should go to FunTech if you want to learn. Also the teachers are nice.
