This course is great for learning how to code games on python using pygame; It would be recommended to have completed both PC01 and PC02 before starting this course as a fluent understanding of python is necessary. I started out not knowing how to even start pygame to making an online, multiplayer game at the end of the year from just weekly sessions. Funtech ensures that you know everything included within the scope of the course; they do many skills-checks, quizzes and recaps so that everyone has a solid understanding and leaving no-one behind. I had lots of fun learning to make games and I find that I still use these skills outside of Funtech for my own projects; it was great!

The coder level 1 review teaches you all the basics of coding and teaches you how to create certain games such as hangman, noughts and crosses and a word guesser. It is a very informative course and is suitable for all ages. The tutors are really kind and useful and help whenever it is needed. The lesson time is good as it keeps your mind activated for the whole time and keeps you learning.

Pretty good course

It was a good course but someone more games would be nice but thank you for teaching me this year.

Roblox Game Developer

It was extremely fun to do and I leant a lot although we didn't do lua coding whereas the page for this course says it has lua coding. I learnt how to use constraints, forces, properties and the terrain editor!

The software was easy to install and use, and the kind support from the instructors and other members of staff caused it to amount to a great course. It allowed me to both learn and experiment with new experiences through various different tasks.

Funtech Dreamweaver

It was a very good term and I learnt a lot from it the tutor was very nice.

During my Funtech course I learned lots of new skills, it was really fun to learn about the different designing apps and platforms that we used. I enjoyed working with photoshop and illustrator most it was a really fun experience and i have used them outside of the course.

It was good. I learned a lot.

Enjoyed it

I enjoyed animating a lot and have learned new things. One thing I dont like though is the constant reminder for feedback and that every lesson must have feedback.

in my time at funtech, we did music editing, video editing and making a game, my favorite one of these was making a game. During the way of game zone course, I deleted my project and I could not get it back, so in my catch up, the tutor got it back and I was so grateful. Funtech is good because the tutor is always ready to help you and they are so nice. I found event sheet on games zone difficult and the thing i found the easiest was mytunes.

Funtech was a cool course which sometimes cheers me up on Saturday Mornings, the reason why I gave it a 4/5 was because the first term, when we were learning about Photoshop, I didn't think it was for me, I was only good at editing photos and pictures, I even help my dad edit his photos, but I just feel like the other things were very confusing, although just recently, I have been drawing a feather on photoshop which has made me more confident, although we finished photoshop long ago. My mother encouraged me to make animations with Adobe but I could only make simple ones with motion tweening, so I did the harder way and half finished a walking bear's animation in which I lost interest in. I must admit, my favourite adobe app has to be Adobe Dreamweaver, I've created my own website just for a novel I'm writing on word. I created the website which contains information about my novel and I pasted the link in the prologue chapter of my document.

Overall, the course content was good, and I learnt a lot of stuff, which was new, and seemed interesting. Chris was also helpful in explaining things I don't understand. However, the coding bit was a bit tricky and sometimes the lessons (and videos) went a bit too fast.

The content of this course was interesting and I learned how to code a lot of different elements such as creating a server and clients.
Each lesson was a little bit too short for the content we had to cover so we were sometimes behind the unit number

All of the lessons have been highly engaging, the teachers interesting and the content is succinct and understandable.
Lessons are long, but time seems to fly while learning.
Overall, lessons have been very good, and the work is covered well.
However, the homework has very high redo standards (not even 90% overall, 90% for each question), and necessitates multiple redos for each submission.
This can easily pile up and be demotivating.
But, overall, the course has been interesting, covered well, and is great.

I found this course to be very useful and well-explained. All problems that I have mentioned have all been dealt with quite nice. The teachers are quite friendly and really good at communicating with students. Despite that however I find it a bit cumbersome to have type reviews every lesson as it is hard to give meaningful feedback and it is a tad bit annoying. Otherwise from that, this was a really great experience and am glad to have been a part of it.

My year at FunTech

It has been a brilliant year with topic ranging from Music to Film Editing to coding platformer games. Our teacher, has been super kind, helpful and very nice. We learnt a lot, and I have learnt a lot.

Funtech PureCoder Level 2

It was very fun. I learnt a lot about python and I can now code fluently in python. We made many projects and we learnt about classes, Tkinter, Graphs, Queues and Stacks.

Interesting but difficult

An interesting course about gaming in python but a lot of code needs to be memorised. Quite a bit of content and time needs to be spent learning it all. It is very intriguing to learn.

The Tutor was great and clearly knew a lot more than what was needed, so that was really great.
I did get lost along the way a few times but I understood what was going on in general quite confidently just the little small things were what sometimes confused me.
Can't wait to continue FunTech next year, though that isn't Purecoder, I'm certain it will be just as good.
I think what would be cool would be to have a game we plan on building in the end, and adding to the same file(s) every week and slowly building up to one big game at the end, rather than tons of smaller units and files.
Thanks a lot for a great year in which we covered a lot of content.
