My 11-year-old son wanted to learn coding, so I began searching for virtual summer classes. When I found FunTech, I was immediately impressed by their informative, user-friendly website and excellent variety of course options. I chose Python after hearing it is the best foundational language for kids to learn next.My son ended up loving the class so much that he is already asking for more lessons! His teacher, Elliot, was incredibly kind, smart, patient, and funny, which kept him fully engaged.Thank you so much, FunTech, for making coding fun and giving my son such a great start. We absolutely intend to return for more classes, and I highly recommend FunTech to any parent wanting their child to learn to code!

My son took this course in order to fill in some gaps in his knowledge of Python fundamentals as he had missed some Computing classes at school due to illness and he also had not been given any relevant homework. He liked the teacher and the structure of each lesson. What he particularly liked were the challenges in each lesson as he likes to problem-solve and use his knowledge in practical ways. This was a very worthwhile course in that it was a lot of fun and built his confidence in computing. He is looking forward to doing another Python course with FunTech.

My Son atended the week long in-person Minecraft - Mod Developer course at Victoria. While initally uncertain how the course would go having not done one before, he really enjoyed it. As well as creating mods and playing with them, break times kept him physically active too. He's excited to integrate some of the mods he made into the game at home plus he has ideas for more to make.
He'd definintely recommend it and is hoping to try the roblox course next summer.

Funtech residential camp is the only thing I’ve been hearing from my daughter about since her return. She is already planning her next year’s camps and wants to attend 2. The staff and peers were very fun and friendly. My daughter goes to girls’ school and has a pretty shy personality. She was very nervous about boys and whether she can make any friends at all. It was not the case. By the end of the camp she even stopped calling me, because she was too busy with her own social life :)

5 day, 9am-1230pm Game Design Camp

Easy to book and set up, A really enjoyed the week and learned new skills in a supportive, fun virtual camp. Tutor good at keeping their attention and lots of different aspects covered, with afternoons free to carry on with other activities.

Python OOP

Fantastic camp, challenging at first for him but he felt confident by end of week. Excellent tutelage.

Great Camp!

My son really enjoyed the camp and learned a lot. They built a tower of defence game among other things. Great tutor.
I was impressed that my son stayed focused for 3,5 hours every day throughout the course.

Really fun, nice people

The staff were friendly (as were the students), and the course was fast paced and fun. My daughter spent a happy week doing the Cyber Security Hackathon and was keen to go every day.

OOP 1&2

This is the second online course my som has done. He thoroughly enjoyed it. He understood everything well, he particularly enjoyed making the windows as it was a new skill and ‘it was cool’.

This is my daughter’s fourth time participating in a Funtech course. This time round, the Lego Robotics camp. She found it engaging, a little challenging at times, but by the end of the week she was executing her programmes with gusto, getting her robot to twirl, write her initials and navigate a maze. As always, the teachers were patient and knowledgeable and bonded easily with the kids. So much so they were chatting to them like friends by the end of the week. Thoroughly recommend this course. We hope to return next summer.

Great week of learning for my daughter! She did require a bit of support from us which was expected given that she’s not too familiar with her Mac and ages so young. I really felt for the tutor (Anton) who was so patient with her. She was extremely tired by the end of the week but she really wanted to keep going. She even wanted to sign up for level 2!

Was so impressed with the whole set up. Webex worked great and Anton was brilliant at engaging the kids. We will definitely attend again!

Python Coder L1

A very good and informative course for people with no experience or little experience in programming. The teachers at the in-person camps are also helpful in assisting children when in need. Overall, it is a great course and we will consider booking some more advanced courses in the future.

We had a fantastic experience with the FunTech camp. The teachers were kind, professional, and very supportive. I really appreciated the small group sizes, which meant every child received plenty of individual attention.

The facilities and organisation were excellent, and the children were engaged throughout the day while still having proper breaks.

My daughter is not a native English speaker and we don’t live in the UK, yet she came home every day feeling confident, happy, and proud of what she had achieved. That speaks volumes about the welcoming atmosphere and the quality of the teaching.

We are about to start Elisa Sophie’s third year with FunTech this September, and as parents, we couldn’t be happier. Month by month, we’ve watched her interest and curiosity for all the subjects covered grow exponentially.
The way programming is tailored specifically for kids has completely removed the initial performance anxiety she felt, keeping her more and more engaged with every lesson.
Elisa is Italian, lives in Italy, and is a native Italian speaker. Despite this, FunTech has been fantastic at providing time slots that fit perfectly with Italian school hours and holidays. On top of that, their tutors have been incredibly supportive whenever she felt unsure or had doubts about understanding certain topics.
We highly recommend them!

My son took Part 1 & 2 of the Minecraft Coder course. He is already a big Minecraft fan and enjoyed the content - it was a good balance of familiar topics and new concepts. As a parent, I really liked how organized the whole experience was. The onboarding was simple and clear (checking hardware specs, downloading and installing Minecraft etc). The logistics worked well - instructor was there on time, the breaks happened as planned, everything smoothly. I will definitely look for other courses in the future.

A wonderful experience

Our son had an amazing week at the Lego robotics camp. The instructors were passionate, caring, and enthusiastic. He had fun, made friends, and learned a ton. I can’t recommend funtech enough.

My 8 year old loved all parts of his Roblox designing course. The teacher was supportive and enthusiastic and was able to draw out his talkative side which isn’t easy given you are all working remotely. He learnt lots and thoroughly enjoyed his experience with FunTech

We couldn’t be happier with the Python coding course at Funtech. My son has absolutely loved it from start to finish. Every break, he’s been bouncing out full of excitement, and at the end of each day he’s genuinely been sad that it was over - which says a lot, especially given the hours are long...

We couldn’t be happier with the Python coding course at Funtech. My son has absolutely loved it from start to finish. Every break, he’s been bouncing out full of excitement, and at the end of each day he’s genuinely been sad that it was over - which says a lot, especially given the hours are longer than a typical school day!

What’s really stood out is how engaged he’s been. He’s loved all of the projects and has been so motivated to keep going that I’ve actually had to drag him out for walks just to get him off his screen - otherwise he’d happily spend the whole evening continuing what he started in class.

Not only has he had a fantastic time, but he’s clearly learnt a huge amount too. His confidence has grown, and he’s been excited to talk through what he’s built and how it works.

A special mention to his tutor, Hope, who was exceptional - clearly inspiring, supportive, and brilliant at keeping the students engaged throughout.

A brilliant course that manages to be both educational and genuinely fun, highly recommend and he is excited for the next two, we wish he could do the next one in May and not wait until August!

Great 1st Python session

My son really enjoyed his 1st week learning Python code. He commented several times that his coach/tutor was excellent and really connected with him. The timing and content seemed very age appropriate. we will be back for more courses in summer holidays!!

FunTech October Half Term

We thought that Hope was an excellent tutor for William. She even did extra sessions when he missed the class. William really enjoyed the week and learnt a lot during the camp. We are impressed with his progress in python. William is very keen to do another camp in the future. Thank you so much.
