Python Game Developer virtual camp

Our son had a great time doing this online course and finished with a game which took me back to the good old Space Invaders days. The tutor, Joe, was attentive and responsive and, overall, the two weeks were a great success.

Great follow on course

This was an excellent follow up course to the Python Coder. It enabled the coding skills acquired in the coding course to be utilised to create a fun game. Our son really enjoyed it.

We have been wanting our son to do a camp with FunTech for a long time but unfortunately they didn't have a location in our area. The virtual camp offering has really opened up the courses for everyone. Adam, our son, absolutely loved it and couldn't wait to join the course each day, the tutor was brilliant and Adam was enthusiastically showing me what he had done each day. One day he hadn't quite grasped the concept fully and FunTech proactively gave me a call offering a 1-2-1 session to ensure he wasn't missing out in any way, it really is a first class operation. We have already booked another camp and are looking at term time as well, we are excited to see where this goes.

Roblox Game Maker - A few technical hitches but fun was had

Scarlett very much enjoyed her week on this course but it was marred by technical issues due to using the virtual computer we had paid extra for. These hitches resulted in her missing chunks of the course and losing all her work which definitely lessened her enjoyment. Clearer instructions or ...

Scarlett very much enjoyed her week on this course but it was marred by technical issues due to using the virtual computer we had paid extra for. These hitches resulted in her missing chunks of the course and losing all her work which definitely lessened her enjoyment. Clearer instructions or actually making sure that the games are kept so they can be improved on at the end of the week would have been a big plus. I was impressed with how they were able to make friends even though they weren't there in person. I thought the tutor managed well with what was clearly a difficult task to do remotely and Scarlett was grateful for the extra time she was given at the end of the day, one afternoon, when she'd missed a lot due to the technical hitches.

We were incredibly impressed with the course and its content, but absolutely blown away by the amazing support our daughter received. She is somewhat of a perfectionist, prone to bouts of anxiety and the occasional ASD meltdown. After a lesson in which she panicked, the Funtech team called us to offer a recap of the lesson and some extra support - this was all it took to reassure her. She has looked forward to each lesson, has learned tons and has finished the course brimming with ideas that she now knows how to put into action. My son has loved his coding camp. He’s been engaged and interested for the full duration. His only disappointment was that the virtual machine kicked him out 15 minutes after the class finished meaning he didn’t have time to share with us the things he had created.

Oh goodness, I am sorry. Had we known we would have gladly left his Virtual Machine on for longer.

She has learned new techniques which will make Minecraft even more interesting for her. It was only her first camp but she wants to do more already both virtual and on-site (once things are back to normal).

The Amazing FunTech 3D Game Design Camp!

It was a super fun camp, with loads of different fun-packed activities and opportunities! The teachers that I had, Cato especially were amiable and informative, and it gave me the chance to meet lots of new people. I would love to do this camp again and would recommend it. Absolutely worth it!

This course teaches you how to code using the PyGame software, so that you are able to make your very own Space Invaders game! This course was extremely interesting, engaging and fun; we learnt a lot of new and complex concepts, which were gone through and explained carefully and in detail. The course was also very well-structured and planned, which ensured a relaxed yet concentrated atmosphere at all times - this made learning much easier and much more fun! I also feel that this course has made me much more confident in Python - and I would certainly recommend this course as it is fun, informative, and practical. Five out of five stars!

I really loved the course!

I found this course really fun because I learnt new things and learnt how to make my own game. Ethan was really helpful throughout the course and made it much easier and enjoyable. The course was really interesting and fun!

I was really stressed about the coding part of my gcse computer science exam because I just couldn’t get the hang of it at school. I told my mum that I didn’t think I would do well so she booked me on a 1 week python course at funtech.

My tutor was amazing, everything was broken down so clearly that it actually made sense. If anyone in the class had questions, she took the time to explain it until we all understood.

Thank you funtech, your teaching is seriously good and I will be back for more courses. Just wish school taught like you guys.

I was not sure if i should've done this course, but i have learned a lot and enjoyed it very much, our tutor,Scott,was very fun and kind, he helped us a lot and we learned a lot. I 100% recommend this camp.

I loved it!

I loved the course and i learned a lot about python, i had a great tutor who explained everything very well when i didn't understand something. Sometimes we got a bit off topic but otherwise it was great!
