My Funtech Experience

I really enjoyed my year with Funtech. The lessons were exciting and engaging, the course was well designed and the tutors responded to my queries immediately. Even though the course was pretty hard at times, this was still a brilliant year! Have a wonderful summer holiday!

Funtech overall has been an enjoyable, awesome time for me as I get to learn lots of different styles of code and also do it at home fresh in the morning which has been quite easy for me to do. All my tutors (Safa being the main one) have been extremely kind and helpful, and I also want to give a big thanks to Support Tech (Abul) for all the help and fixing my computers after technical problems. I am so happy I have the additional coding and computing knowledge now, so thank you Funtech! :)

Excellent fun!

This course has been really fun and engaging through the year. The difficulty was perfect, with extension activities available to go further if you finish early. The tutor was amazing, making lessons both productive and enjoyable.

This year at funtech has been very interesting fun, and enjoyable. I have learnt alot about coding and my tutors have always been kind and helpful when I needed it.

I really enjoyed the Pure Coder Level 6 course, where I learnt the fundamentals of machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Term 1, we started by using a variety of libraries (nltk, tensorflow and tflearn) to build a simple chatbot that used sentiment analysis on the user's input.

During term 2, we learnt how to build neural networks from scratch, including adding activation layers and fully connected layers. We also learnt about cost functions, learning rate and back propagation.

I particularly enjoyed the last term, where we learned how to implement reinforcement learning into a variety of games, such as snake. This course is more challenging and demanding than the FunTech courses I've taken previously. It contains quite a bit of maths, such as derivatives, matrices and dot product. Therefore, I appreciate the optional consolidate-it challenges after each lesson, and the skills checks every 3 lessons to make sure that I understand all the concepts fully.

In addition, my tutor has been brilliant at explaining all the concepts and helping me when I was stuck on something during a challenge.

Overall, this is a spectacular and extremely useful course, and I would strongly recommend it to anyone interested in learning about machine learning.

My Year in Funtech

PC03 was a very good experience - I learned a lot from a very enthusiastic and understandable teacher. Every session was great, not only in content, but in overall experience. The tutors are great - the main one who taught my class, as well as the various others I learnt from in catchup sessions....

PC03 was a very good experience - I learned a lot from a very enthusiastic and understandable teacher. Every session was great, not only in content, but in overall experience. The tutors are great - the main one who taught my class, as well as the various others I learnt from in catchup sessions.

The content in PC03 is nothing short of brilliant - it far surpasses PC02 and PC01 in complexity, but the transition wasn't a difficult one, and the information was split down into easy to digest units.

Pygame is very daunting, but the tutors and exercises helped to make it easier.

If you have finished PC02, I greatly recommend taking on PC03 aswell. It's not only a brilliant addition to the knowledge already obtained in the previous units, but also a wonderful experience.

Also ngl tbh here Indigo is the best teacher hes like the god of python i once was dying and then he ressurected me it was crazy ngl best teacher ever the GOAT. what a slay queen sksksksks

I had a great year at funtech and learned so much. I had a great time learning how to use, code and create on several websites. I have learned to create games code websites and microbits and overall have an amazing technological adventure! Thank you for giving me a wonderfull experience. ☺︎

Funtech

These Funtech lessons have been really fun and enjoyable. I have learnt a lot more about using the micro bit throughout the passing weeks. Since the day i started this course, i loved it! I liked how we got to do these cool projects on the microbit .

what i liked about it was that on term one it was fun how you got to like paint stuff and things and also the thing i liked about microbit was the thing when you put the on shak code block you could press shake and the thing shakes

I've been taking Funtech for almost six years now, and I can safely say that every session has been worth it. I came in with little to no Python experience as a starry-eyed nine-year-old who had a passion for video games, and left confident in my abilities, with a passion for not only games but the design behind them.

All the tutors I've had over the years have been brilliant; there's plenty of different topics out there when it comes to computer science, and through the years, they've all been covered in not only depth, but breadth.

You won't regret signing up with Funtech - it's been brilliant, and I would absolutely recommend it.

I am very happy that I have been taking funtech courses for the last five years. I have done all the courses from PC01 to PC06. It is crazy to think that I started this when I was 12 but I have improved a lot in these years. When I started I only knew the basics of python and scratch but throughout the years I have learned more about programming such as more complex ideas in python like object oriented programming and how to make a game in python, I have learned how to program in C++ and thanks to me learning C++ I managed to compete in the West European Informatic Olympiad, I learned about how to use a game engine which has given me to confidence to start making my own game and I learned the most important concepts behind neutral networks. As I said I am incredibly happy to have taken these courses, they have not only taught me how to do things in python, C++ or unreal engine five but how to approach difficult tasks and solve them. I would recommend these courses to teens who are interested in computers and problem solving and that is why I give the Pure Coder courses five stars.

I think funtech as a whole is good, there is no major issues. I enjoyed the lessons because they were structured and relatively easy to follow, while also being fun. other things like skill checks were also good.

I like the idea of remote term time courses, it's quick and simple. Smart tutors who are great at teaching and a nice tech support team. I learn't so much more python. It was all very fun
