Virtual Easter Coding Camps for Kids in April 2021 (Online Classes)

Children in the UK went back to school in March following the 2021 post-Christmas lockdown. Whilst it’s great that they can get to see their friends again in a structured environment, it won’t be long before the Easter holidays are here at the start of April.

By the time the Easter holidays come around in April, the UK should have entered a different phase of the national lockdown easing. That means kids should be allowed to take part in outdoor parent and child groups for some essential fresh air and exercise.

The Easter break could also offer a different opportunity for children and parents though, in the form of virtual Easter coding camps and online STEM learning.

With one of FunTech’s virtual Easter coding camps, you can take your child’s familiarity with online learning and keep them engaged and having fun across the 2 weeks when not outdoors.

In fact, many parents opt to choose an afternoon or morning session for their kids on our virtual coding camps and classes, with their child then spending the remainder of the day on other Easter activities.

Most children have been working from home recently, so will be familiar with the concept of virtual meetings. Our online learning runs in a similar way, and you can find out exactly how it all works here.

Virtual coding camps (Easter classes in April 2021)

1. Minecraft with Mods (ages 7 to 10)

This creative and fun Minecraft virtual Easter coding camp is packed full of fun learning activities, experimentation, problem solving and creativity. Once your child has mastered the secrets of Minecraft such as brewing potions and conquering the Nether – they will learn how to Mod a variety of different items that will take their Minecraft skills way beyond the basics.

2. Scratch Coding (ages 7 to 10)

Whilst the theory and logic of coding has remained the same for decades, methods have evolved significantly. Our Scratch virtual coding camp in the Easter holidays is ideal for kids new to coding. Scratch is a fantastic visual-based coding editor which enables children to create fun animations, interactive stories, games, sounds and much more! It’s the perfect introduction to coding and computational thinking that makes coding for kids seriously fun!

3. Minecraft Engineering with Redstone (ages 9 to 12)

With these virtual Easter coding lessons, your child will start their virtual online camp using Redstone energy to create the different logic gates. They will then learn how these logic gates can be combined to create different circuits and complex electronic items such as calculators, elevators and more. They’ll use all the skills they learn to design and build an amazing adventure course full of challenges, surprises and puzzles that players must navigate through!

4. Roblox Game Developer (ages 9 to 12)

We take the popular gaming platform Roblox to teach digital skills and programming concepts to children in this popular virtual Easter holiday coding club. Whether your kid is new to Roblox or a regular gamer, they will learn how to create an obstacle course and kart racing game during a fun week of experimentation, creativity and real-world physics.

5. Indie Game Developer (ages 9 to 13)

These online Easter coding camps are more focussed on app development but is also a great introduction to game design. We use hands-on exercises and projects to teach your child the skills and techniques required to design and build an interactive game. They’ll get an introduction to core coding concepts and learn how to export and publish their game on the web.

6. 3D Game Design (ages 10 to 14)

From the fundamentals of game design to essential 3D game programming concepts, your child will learn the skills required to develop a seriously impressive multi-platform video game. This virtual camp is packed full of structured learning, practical exercises and projects guaranteed to capture the imagination and unleash creativity.

How FunTech is different from other virtual coding camps at Easter

We understand that plans can change, which is why we offer a coding camp swap service. This let you swap your child’s online Easter holiday camp for a different one up to 2 weeks before the original start date.

We also accept Childcare vouchers, can work to International time zones.

We also work out cheaper than other online learning programs when you consider the amount of actual tutor time the children have.

With Easter fast approaching, book now as spaces are filling up fast.

Our online learning platform is led by expert tutors, They will teach and guide your child through the course content, with real-time feedback there and then. The FunTech tutors are live and always on hand to help and analyse your child’s progress.

Kids are able to ask questions, hear the answers, and more:

  • Instant audio and text communication
  • Ability to chat with the class or privately to a tutor
  • Kids can follow tutors through the course and see practical demonstrations
  • Screen sharing and remote access available
  • A maximum of 8 students per classroom for focussed lessons
  • Immediate and intuitive feedback from tutors.
  • With classes being very small it means our tutors can give your child the attention needed to truly learn how to code and master other technical disciplines.

The FunTech tutors are able to see your child’s screen constantly so can guide and step in at any point. It also means they can focus on helping your child if they start to get distracted, or complete tasks before their classmates.

It’s what sets our virtual Easter coding classes apart from so many others – it’s real time, with real tutors, and real classmates. You can’t learn and have fun in a better environment than that.
