Graphic design can lead a wide range of exciting careers and opportunities for today’s children. But without a structured approach to learning or access to the right kind of software, it won’t be something that they will be learning at many schools.
However, with the CreativeTech graphic design course for kids, you can help your child get ahead, whilst turning their imagination into reality.
The CreativeTech course covers advanced graphics plus industry-standard animation and website development.
The graphic design classes take place virtually for 80 minutes each week during term time either after school, or on a weekend day. Conducted by an expert graphic design tutor, it doesn’t matter where you live around the world, your child can take part in the lessons.
The course is aimed at kids between the ages of 7 and 18, and lasts for one year, the end of which they will receive a course completion certificate.
LEARN MOREHow our graphic design lessons for kids work
We use a state-of-the-art virtual learning platform which lets your child learn remotely and virtually with the support of a tutor. You child simply logs in once a week to attend a graphic design class with a handful of other students.
It’s fun, engaging, and lets them use virtual tools to communicate with their tutor and class friends.
As well as learning cutting-edge tech skills, your child will be learning to work with the virtual technology that will surround them in the future and that are essential in the modern working environment.
It’s as simple as:

Why graphic design for kids is important
Just like you might sign your child up to after school guitar lessons or a karate club, we believe that graphic design lessons for kids are just as important.
Here are just a couple of considerations about why you might want to enrol your child in the CreativeTech course.
It’s not something that’s taught in schools
Whilst kids will have art classes at school up to the age of 16, actual graphic design for kids isn’t on the UK curriculum currently as an individual subject.
The American graphic designer, Chip Kidd, who is probably the most famous book cover designer in the world, is a huge advocate of kids learning graphic design.
He had this to say about teaching kids graphic design:
“Kids today are making graphic design through their smartphones and devices, but they may or may not know it, and they may or may not understand how to make their projects effective. I just thought, all right, let’s address this, because there really isn’t any kind of text for grade-school kids about graphic design.”
Yes, UK schools do teach art and design, but approaches can be very different, and there is a lack of focussed computer teaching in schools.
In fact, it has been revealed that more than half of England’s secondary schools did not offer GCSE computer science in 2015-16.
Modern graphic design is now almost exclusively conducted via technology. If your child’s school can’t offer that, then they are not going to be able to learn these skills without extra-curricular activities.
At FunTech, we aim to address this with our term time graphic design classes for kids.
Graphic design can lead to a wide range of careers
Graphic design is a skill that is in demand now, and that’s only set to increase with more and more of modern life revolving around screens. That has led to an increase in jobs for graphic designers, working in industries and areas as diverse as:
- Advertising

- Design services
- Engineering
- Entertainment
- Gaming
- Information technology
- Interior design
- Manufacturing
- Marketing
- Media
- Publishing
Graphic design is also no longer just about making something look good.
Technology is now so embedded into virtually everything that we do on a daily basis, that graphic design needs to help users interact with a product in helpful and useful ways.
