Easter Holiday Activities for Kids Who Love Tech

Easter break comes around, the kids are buzzing, and you’re quietly wondering how many hours of YouTube you can realistically let them watch… If your child loves gaming, gadgets or coding, FunTech’s live virtual tech camps are a smart way to turn that screen time into something productive (and still really fun).

FunTech was founded in 1996 to teach coding and tech to children and teens. We have more than 14,000 parent reviews, and 97% say they’d recommend them. Classes are taught live by expert tutors in small groups, so your child gets real interaction, feedback and encouragement rather than just watching videos.

So, if you are searching for Easter holiday activities for your kids, look no further. Here’s how we can help.

Why virtual coding camps work so well as Easter holiday activities

Each virtual camp runs Monday to Friday, and you can choose mornings, afternoons or a full day option. Typical sessions are 3 hours of live teaching with built-in breaks, or 6 hours for the full-day format, with plenty of time away from the screen. That makes it easy to plan around work, trips to grandparents, or other Easter holiday activities you have booked in.

All of our virtual camps use proper tools and programming languages – the same kind used in real studios and tech companies – but taught in an age-appropriate, friendly way. Kids join from home, but can chat with classmates, share projects and finish the week with something tangible they can show off and demonstrate to their parents.

For parents, there’s extra peace of mind with FunTech’s “Book with confidence” Camp Swap policy, which lets you move to another date, format or course up to two weeks before the start, subject to availability.

Below are the virtual courses listed on FunTech’s holiday page, all ideal as Easter holiday activities for tech-loving kids.

Easter holiday activities for younger creators (ages 7–10)

Roblox Game Designer (ages 7–10)

If your child spends their life in Roblox, the Roblox Game Designer virtual camp lets them build the games they love to play. Over the week, they use Roblox Studio to design obstacle courses (“Obbys”), sculpt terrain, add checkpoints and create interactive elements like moving platforms and trap doors. They also start to learn physics, basic game design and simple interface elements – all hidden inside a project that feels like pure play.

Minecraft Mod Developer (ages 7–10

On Minecraft Mod Developer, kids go from player to creator by building their own Minecraft mods with MCreator. They design custom blocks, tools, armour, creatures and even whole new biomes and dimensions. Logic, problem-solving and structured thinking are baked into every step, but from your child’s point of view, they’re “just” making their dream version of Minecraft to show family and friends.

Easter holiday activities where kids can build STEM skills with Minecraft (ages 9–12)

Minecraft Redstone Engineer (ages 9–12)

The Minecraft Redstone Engineer virtual camp is ideal for kids who love tinkering and building contraptions. Using Redstone as Minecraft’s version of electricity, they build circuits, logic gates, clocks and automated systems. It’s a fun route into electronics, logic and quantitative thinking, all wrapped in a game they already adore.

Minecraft Game Coder (ages 9–12)

In Minecraft Game Coder, children move into real coding. They write code that controls structures, places blocks, spawns mobs and reacts to player actions. By the end of the week, they have interactive Minecraft challenges they’ve coded themselves, plus a strong base in core programming ideas.

Easter holiday activities including 3D games and core coding skills (ages 10–16)

3D Game Design Developer (ages 10–14)

3D Game Design Developer is a great Easter project for kids who talk about becoming game designers. Using Unreal Engine, they learn how levels are planned, how mechanics work, and how to turn ideas into a playable 3D game. They finish with a multi-platform game they can keep improving long after the camp ends.

Python Coder (ages 10–16)

Python Coder is FunTech’s flagship coding for kids course. Across Part 1 and Part 2, students learn Python from the ground up: variables, loops, decisions, lists, algorithms and more, all through practical mini-projects. It’s a solid starting point for future GCSE Computer Science, game development or later courses like Python OOP and AI.

Easter holiday activities where older kids and teens can level-up their tech skills (ages 11–16)

Roblox Lua Coder (ages 11–16)

For older Roblox fans, Roblox Lua Coder moves beyond drag-and-drop tools into full scripting. Students code every interaction in their game using Lua: player movement, scoring, in-game events and more. It’s perfect for teens who want to take Roblox creations seriously and maybe even start building games for the wider community.

Python OOP (ages 11–16)

Python OOP is the next step after Python Coder. Kids learn concepts such as classes, objects, inheritance and file handling, then apply them to more advanced projects. By the end, they think far more like real developers, ready for bigger applications and game projects.

Java Coder (ages 11–16)

The Java Coder virtual camp introduces one of the most widely-used programming languages in tech and game development. Teens learn core syntax, logic and structured thinking while building practical Java projects. It’s particularly handy for those eyeing future Computer Science courses or careers.

Unity Game Coder (ages 11–16)

In Unity Game Coder, students use the Unity engine and C# to build 2D games. They learn about scenes, sprites, physics and scripting while creating polished, controller-ready games. This suits teens who are serious about game dev or curious about how popular indie titles are made.

Python Game Coder (ages 12–16)

Python Game Coder is fast-paced and ideal for confident coders. It introduces object-oriented programming and Pygame, so students can code arcade-style games with animation, collisions and physics. It’s a brilliant Easter project for those who already know some Python and want something more challenging.

A.I. Machine Learning (ages 12–16)

For advanced students, A.I. Machine Learning turns Python skills into real artificial intelligence projects. Teens experiment with neural networks, image recognition, chatbots, sentiment analysis and tools like Google Colab and TensorFlow. It’s a serious, hands-on introduction to one of the most exciting areas in tech.

Ready to plan your child’s Easter holiday activities?

All of these camps run as live, tutor-led virtual classes with clear timetables across the Easter holidays, and you can filter by age and subject on the main virtual camp finder

If your child lives on Roblox, Minecraft or loves tinkering with code, an Easter week with FunTech can keep them busy, social and learning – while you get a more relaxed (and slightly less screen-argument-filled) holiday.
