We began on Monday by experimenting with different meshes and first player view. As the week went on, we progressed onto more complex techniques such as foliage, dialogue and landscapes. The final 2 days were about putting what we had learned into practise through a few fun projects. This course has been a really useful way to learn more about Unreal Engine as it is a helpful environment to learn in with a tutor always ready to answer any questions you may have.

Funtech

I liked learning how to make triggers, activators, variables ,etc. I learnt allot from the two weeks of funtech.

It was fun

I like designing diffrent landscapes and make obstacle courses/mazes.Adding physics and editing blue prints was fun to edit assets that we already have to fit our game

FunTech Review

I really enjoyed the course and I would recommend it to somebody else. My favourite day was the last one because I love creating my own game. I think having a break every hour is a good idea because it gives the pupils a break from looking at a screen.

My experience

I enjoyed the camp because the final projects were really fun and everyone was very friendly.

Residential

It was a good experience especially the activities after lunch and after dinner. And now I know how to code and design a game.

Unreal Experience!

This was my second time doing this camp and I really enjoyed it a lot.

FunTech Review

The final few days is the best part about the entire course as we get to create our own projects and the days go much quicker than they do normally. Also the tutor was very nice and very helpful especially when we needed help or were stuck on something. I really enjoyed the course overall.

It's very fun but it has some consequences

This camp was so fun! In the first week, it was a bit slow and I had so many problems but all were solved and I'm so happy that I finally completed my game! There are some things you could improve but overall, it was awesome!

My daughter Bethan had a great experience at the above course. The instructor (Jamie I think it was) was very patient and had a good balance between discipline and fun. My daughter Bethan had a great experience at the above course. The instructor (Jamie I think it was) was very patient and had a good balance between discipline and fun. The only feedback I could see was that the waiting /lunch room felt a bit stuffy during that particular week. The lady who's in charge of the registration was top notch ensuring the children's safety. Another feedback towards the end was that the laptop or connection might have been better in that it took my daughter a look time to download her game to the USB sticker and it wasn't properly saved and so she couldn't open it again afterwards.

Thomas really enjoyed this and learnt a lot. He’s continuing to practise at home over the holidays.
He did find the first day very slow, so maybe the pace needs to move faster or be more practical to improve it.
