Great week at funtech!

AMAZING week! As usual, the staff are brilliant, accommodation is great and the course is extremely intuitive! AI course is very clear, but challenging, and I managed to build amazing things, thank you!

This was my fourth time coming to FunTech, and it was just as fun as all the times before. I did the AI machine learning course, and I learnt many things about AI, chatbots, and other fun things one can do with Python. I ended up understanding more of it than I thought I would, which was rather pleasing.
Aside from the course itself, the pupils and tutors are incredibly nice and fun to be around. I get to meet so many people every year, and it is a very character building experience. The residence is really nice, especially the common room, as you get to connect with everybody, and the evening activities are fun. There are few things one could ask for in such an extraordinary camp.
I would, however, be really happy if we were allowed hot beverages (like tea or coffee), as it is very cold in the mornings and it would help a lot if we were allowed a warm cup of tea. There is near to nothing else I would change about camp. I really recommend it to anyone.

I came into this camp after having done an Introduction to Programming course at school, and I was really happy with how the course challenged and supported me. There was a solid review of all the prerequisite concepts, and the new content was done in small, manageable pieces with practice in between. I definitely learned a lot of new material and built a lot on my old skills, which helped me prepare for the advanced computer science course I'll be taking at school next year.

The teachers were all really helpful, checking in with every student individually and ensuring that no one was falling behind. We never felt rushed, but also still covered all of the material on time. Isaac and Paul definitely deserve a raise for being such great teachers (and putting up with our group's chaos all week). I made some great friends on this course and definitely want to come back next year for the level 3 python course.

Python OOP review

This course was really fun and I learnt so much more about Python which will be very useful for my GCSEs later. The topics covered were advanced but our teacher explained the concepts clearly and helped us when we were struggling. I would definitely recommend this camp to other students!

The lessons were interesting, the tutors (Brooke and Daniel) were really good and explained things well, boarding was fun overall, there were lots of activities and the pastoral tutors (Abul, JMA and Charlotte) were also really friendly

This camp was an absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. Although it began with a slightly slow start, things quickly picked up pace, and before long the schedule was full of engaging activities and plenty of opportunities to learn. The evening entertainment was fun and well thought out, providing a great balance between relaxation and excitement after the more focused sessions during the day. The pastoral staff were fantastic—always approachable, supportive, and willing to help whenever needed—so I had no complaints there at all.

The tutors were equally brilliant. They not only made the sessions highly productive but also ensured that everyone stayed motivated and on track. I was able to get a lot of work done while also enjoying myself, which is not always easy to balance. Their teaching style was both informative and encouraging, and that made a big difference in the overall experience.

Overall, this has truly been a great camp. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here, learned a lot, and created some memorable experiences along the way. However, since I have already completed most of the courses offered, this might actually be my last camp unless more advanced levels are introduced in the future—perhaps something like a Hackathon 2 or AI 2. If those become available, I would definitely be interested in continuing, as every single course I’ve taken here has been excellent. If not, then I can happily say that this has been a wonderful way to conclude my journey with these camps.

This week was great, I enjoyed every aspect about it, all the teachers were very nice, and I feel like I learned so much these few days. The food was also really good, and I enjoyed the activities that we all day, overall this year at FunTech was amazing, and if I could I would come back next year.

The camp was very fun and I learned so many things that I (mostly) understood :). My final project was wonderful and my chatbot could do a variety of things that I had learned throughout the week. The tutors and other pupils were very nice, everyone is really friendly and one of the tutors, Abul, gave a very emotional speech at the end that inspired us all. I stayed at the residence and it was very good :) As well as learning a lot of fascinating new things about how AI works and even creating my own AI, the evening activities were also very fun. A marvelous experience on the whole - if you're a girl reading this then don't be shy and try out a camp, although it is mostly boys, we need to add more inclusivity to the field of computer science!!!

End of Python Part 1 camp

The work was a bit hard but the instructor was very clear with his instructions. I learned a lot! It was fun learning python, it has inspired me to do more programming in the future

I did the Flexi online Python OOP Course with Toru, and this experience was so much fun, so insightful and has taught me so much, that I feel will definitely help me with my Computer Science GCSE, as I am definitely ahead of all the other students taking it. We covered so much in this course, from functions, file handling, to tkinter. At times, I did struggle a bit, but I was able to work on and understand my issues as Toru was really helpful in overcoming my challenges, and even went through with me personally, which I really appreciated from him. I have completed some consolidation paperwork and will review it during future programming. Thank you so much, Toru and FunCourse, I thoroughly enjoyed it and learned so much. Thanks!

Great course!!!

Before I did the Python game coder course, my Python was questionable, and my OOP coding definitely wasn't the best. Now, I can code almost any 2D game I can think of!

The camp was really fun to do and we learnt lots of things. There were some difficult parts but then I started to understand them later really quickly because of how they explained it. It was a good experience and I would do it again to spend my time.
