My son said this is by far the best course he’s done at fun tech and he had a great time again. He loves the tutors and values their knowledge. Unfortunately, it was disappointing to hear that behaviour was a concern this year. He commented that their were a few children who clearly didn’t want...
FunTech Response
Thank you so much for your kind feedback—it’s wonderful to hear that your son had a positive experience and connected so well with our tutors. We take great pride in creating an enjoyable and enriching environment for all our students.
Please accept our apologies for the disruption caused by two children during the week. While our usual procedure is to contact parents to collect their child early in such cases, we were unable to reach these parents until the final day, as they were travelling abroad.
Thankfully, this was not a serious situation, such as a medical emergency. However, to prevent this from happening in the future, we are implementing a new system requiring parents to provide emergency contacts who are readily available in the country to collect the child promptly if needed.
Rest assured, we have spoken to the family and the students involved will not be returning to our residential camp next year.
We genuinely appreciate your feedback and look forward to welcoming your son back for another fantastic experience.

Hello Gabriele enjoyed the class especially last day when he had the chance to do a one to one lesson. He found in the beginning some difficulties to find the right buttons to press, perhaps is due to the fact that this was his first camp. Overall a nice experience. Let's see if he wants to j...

My son thoroughly enjoyed the course and the tutor was brilliant! My only issue is the python dev environment. It was a bit intrusive for the tutors to have full control of our home computer. My son as a matter of principle and his age doesn’t have his own computer so has to use mine. Oth...

I am sorry you found our virtual environment a bit intrusive.
However, rest assured that once the lesson has finished, we do not have control or access to your machine.
FunTech invests a substantial amount in this environment so that parents are confident that we will support their child for both technical issues that may arise or with any course content.
Delighted that your son enjoyed the course.

It was my son's first time of attending a coding camp with Fun Tech. He found his tutors fun and enjoyed the structure of the day. There were good break periods, however, from Weds - Friday the space they had to run around in after lunch was restricted which meant they spent more time on screen...

Sadly, the school that we were running at had some unforeseen problems in the playground which made it unsafe for the children to use.
We had to adapt quickly and tried to make it as easy as possible for the children.
With reference to the USB, to add this would mean an increase in the fees and we feel that most families have a spare datastore that they can bring with them.

We have a zero tolerance policy on any negative behaviour.
Sadly, this summer we had to ask for one child to be picked up on the Monday due to bad behaviour.
Without going into details there were a number of external factors that we were asked to consider, and against my better judgement and whilst I was having daily conversations with him and his parents, I took the decision to let it him continue.
The FunTech team at Tonbridge should not bear any responsibility for this.
I did consider moving him into a one-to-one group, however, I felt this might affect him negatively.
That said, in hindsight, I should have informed all the other parents of the children in his class, and perhaps we should have asked him to leave.
For this I can only apologise.

I am really sorry for this experience.
We had a couple of characters in the class that were definitely challenging.
I believe that your son had a recurring disagreement with one of these characters.
The action we took was the HQ team spoke directly to these children and their parents.
When on the next day this did not improve we split the class and made sure they were kept separated at breaktimes.
After which I believe the problem was resolved.

Sadly the week was extremely hot and so we didn't want the children out in the blazing lunchtime sun. We tried our best by having 1 fan per two students but it was still extremely hot.
There was a slight dip on the last day with the Internet, however, we are at the behest of the schools Internet and thankfully the dip only lasted an hour.
I shall go back and speak to the team at Barbican to see if her game is still on our computer and if so we will send you a copy.
Delighted to hear that she had a great experience and look forward to seeing you again next year.

Thomas really enjoyed this and learnt a lot. He’s continuing to practise at home over the holidays.
He did find the first day very slow, so maybe the pace needs to move faster or be more practical to improve it.
FunTech Response
This is a common concern for children who have had some experience, but it is extremely important to get all the students on the same page on the first day, before we can start picking up the pace for the remainder of the week.
Am pleased to hear that Thomas really enjoyed the course and learnt alot.

All being well, we will be back at our school location next year. Whilst we actively encourage students to ask questions, we understand there are a few students that prefer not to vocalise these during the session. We therefore have a chat feature available to message the tutor during the sessions; ask for honest written feedback after each session has finished, so students can voice any further concerns and offer additional sessions for any students we notice would benefit from additional support.
