5 of the Best AI Learning Apps for Children

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is set to become a feature in the lives of our children. As AI technology continues to advance, it’s important that kids learn about AI and how it works as it very likely going to impact their future career prospects, and even how they learn at school. Fortunately, there are now AI learning apps that can help kids develop an understanding of this emerging field.

We’ve compiled a list of the best AI learning apps for kids which you can see below, and each has a brief explainer of what to expect. But before you read those, we’d like to bring your attention to the FunTech AI and Machine Learning course that runs during the school holidays. It is designed for kids aged 12 to 16, and they will learn to develop a Chatbot.

Best AI learning apps for kids

These apps we recommend offer a range of activities and challenges that teach children about AI in a fun and engaging way. Some of them also use AI to help with their education.

Cognimates

Cognimates is open-source platform here parents and children (7 to 10 years old) can get creative with AI. Children can participate in creative programming activities where they learn how to build games, program robots, and train their own machine learning models.

Gizmo

Gizmo is an AI education tool that helps kids remember everything they learn, but in a simple and fun way. The app uses AI to transform notes and study materials into fun quizzes. Children tend to learn better when they have fun. All you need to do is paste in study notes into the app, then Gizmo transforms them into a fun quiz.

Brickit

Brickit helps kids to build new things with the old Lego bricks they have. All they need to do is spread the bricks out on the floor, take a photo, and upload to the app. The app will scan the photo, identifying and counting details on it. And then the AI works its magic. Brickit will then suggest building ideas depending on what bricks they are, and even include step-by-step instructions.

Cognii

Cognii works as an AI-based virtual learning assistant, utilizing conversational technology to aid students in constructing open-format responses and enhancing their critical thinking abilities. The virtual assistant also delivers personalised one-on-one tutoring and real-time feedback tailored to the individual needs of each child.

Animated Drawings

This AI powered app brings children’s drawings to life. You simply upload a drawing, make a few tweaks, then the app animates it, bringing scenes and characters to life. It’s currently in demo format, but brings two-dimensional children’s’ drawings into fun animations better than other apps we’ve seen.

The importance of AI learning apps for children

AI learning apps can help kids understand and interact with AI technology. These apps can help children develop important skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. They can also help children develop an interest in technology and computer science from an early age.

Moreover, AI learning apps can help children prepare for the future. As AI technology becomes more common in our daily lives, it will be increasingly important for children to have a basic understanding of how it works and how it can be used.

By learning about AI at a young age, children can develop the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in a world that is increasingly driven by technology.
