Overall my FunTech session was very good. Word was good. We learnt how to use the secrets of word. For example using macros. They allow you to program a button or a key to do many items. Spreadsheets was very good. You learnt how to use many different commands to search through lots of data. Finally MySQL allowed you to have a look at the different side of coding. Allowing you to use diagrams and again many different commands to order bits of data or count the amounts etc.

End of year review

It was amazing. I want to say a big thank you to every one who helped put it together - from the IT support to the teachers- thank you for making it the best computing lessons ever . Luckily , I am doing it next year . A big shout out to Awen who helped me through the year.

My tutor was very helpful and cheerful, and gave us lots of interesting context to some of the content we learnt. Overall I am super satisfied with this year of Funtech lessons :)

I really liked the whole year. The par that I liked the bested is MakeCode it was very fun because you get to do what ever you want on it.

The hardest part has definitely been the Djikstra's pathfinding algorithm and A*, but it was still fun...

I really liked this year - it had easy to understand content and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My favourite bit of this year is definitely OOP - I use it in my games a lot now, and it is VERY useful! The hardest part has definitely been the Djikstra's pathfinding algorithm and A*, but it was still fun. My tutor is amazing, and I really like lessons with him. Concluding, PC02 has been such a blast, and I loved it.

It was a very great opportunity to be a part of Funtech from 2020 to 2024, I would recommend this course to anybody interested in technology and coding as a whole, I can't wait for what is to come next year.

My Year at FunTech

I have extremely enjoyed this year in funtech and have found the course really interesting. I have improved my coding skills so much and it has also helped my improve my school computing work. My favourite part about this year was the turtle drawing as I found that really interesting and fun.

Game Zone

we learned about stuff you definitely wouldn't normally be learning in year 8 and it was a very fun experience. i'm looking forward to doing year 9 computer science with this vast knowledge

This year was by far the most enjoyable and interesting in terms of the topics covered. I now have so many more different projects I can create by myself and can even make full-fledged 2d games, which wasn't possible in earlier years. My tutor has been an incredibly fun person to be around, often going out of his way to stay a little after lessons to fix issues and he has made the entire experience so much more enjoyable. Definitely the best year so far.

This year has been so much fun. I've had an amazing tutor, and PC05 has been so enjoyable. Through the year, I've enjoyed learning to use Unreal Engine - I won't deny that bits of it were challenging, but I was pleasantly surprised by how I managed to pick up so much information. It's developed my coding abilities tenfold, and I feel much stronger with both C++ and Unreal Engine.

I really learnt a lot from FunTech to now and my grades went up as well. It aligns with the computer science curriculum in my school too. The lessons and tasks are easy, which helps me understand the lesson thoroughly and do a lot of practice.

Doing Python for a full year feels like something that would go stale quickly, but actually it did not at all. There was consistently new different types of content. While obviously it started off with things like print("Hello World!"), it eventually increased in difficulty A LOT until we were able to learn things like a simplified Pamcan remake. The one thing I did kind of wish we used more was spending 1 lesson on a module, like we did with import random. Obviously you can't cover something as massive as tkinter in 1 lesson, but small things could work. Overall though, very fun course to do, loved it a lot.
