I studied my A-level Computing at Funtech back in 2005. The experience left me with not only a top grade qualification, thanks to the quality and dedication of the staff, but also the confidence and mind-set to go on to achieve my aspirations and goals.

As a result, I have been working as a business consultant for some of the largest multinationals. I have the encouragement and determination of the Funtech staff to thank as a big contributor to my success. At Funtech, every child has their individual needs cared for and the staff work relentlessly to untap ability and potential.

I cannot begin to express how highly I rate FunTech.

My three children have been attending FunTech since they were six years old. Two have already achieved A* grades in their GCSE, and my youngest is current working towards the same.
The older two are now attending programming classes in preparation for A Level with FunTech.

And thanks to the strong foundation they built at Funtech, Common entrance for all three was effortless.

Not only is the teaching first rate but my children really enjoy the lessons and as a parent I know the team will always goes the "extra mile". FunTech has been and continues to be an invaluable part of my children’s education.

Back in the autumn of 2002, I climbed tentativly up the steps into FunTech for the very first time. There I experienced the wonders of computing from learning to touch-type all the way to navigating Lego robotic arms.
Now over 11 years later, I'm still here and having a great time. The place has changed over time but I've never stopped and I've carried on. I've made new friends, I've learnt valuable new skills, and had some really fun times. I've even now been given work here and it would have never happened if I hadn't gone up those steps all those years ago.
With FunTech, I've achieved an A grade in ICT, 3 years before I would have done it at school. I've been studying C# programming now for almost 2 years and intend to do the A-Level in Computing after my other GCSE's here.
FunTech is truly one of those places where, even after 11 years, it always feels like something to look forward to. The teaching is some of the best I've ever experienced and the summer courses on offer are really fun too (I intend to do the Minecraft modding course this summer).

Above all though, FunTech has been like a family to me and I have loved all my time here. Thank you Shen and all of my teachers for making this one of the most memorable parts of my childhood and I hope others can experience the joy and fun I've had here.

Over the years which I have been coming to Funtech, I have found it brilliant and a very great learning place for all. As it is not just a business to teach the youth different ICT aspects but it is a family where everyone is cared for and can have a good laugh with each other while learning complex or the fundamentals of ICT. Funtech over the years has also built a very good reputation with excellent grades and students working in some of the biggest names in the information and technology industries. Fun,Helpful and informative

I have been attending FunTech for a couple of years now, first with stepped approach and then GCSE and it has always been a fun and informative time. The teachers have always been helpful and expanded my knowledge in ICT. I would recommend FunTech to anyone.

I have been attending Funtech for 7 almost 8 years now and can honestly say that I have gained so much from being here. I have not only gained exactly what was promised, a vast knowledge about all aspects of computing and dedicated teachers who have pushed me to achieve all goals set not only for Funtech work but also those within my school work as well. All of the teachers are extremely warm, caring and kind and the small, concentrated classes allow for personal attention. Shen, in particular, has been such an exceptional support for me throughout these years and has been a main driving force behind who I am today. She has not only been extremely important in all aspects of my school life but is now also considered as part of my family. Funtech in itself is not only a brilliant education and experience to be part of but also a whole new family which I am honoured to be a part of.

Funtech provides a very stable basis for children who are entering a world constantly changing with wonderful new and exciting inventions, people (and gadgets!) they focus not only on the ICT aspect but they offer a lot more in terms of social interaction and moral support, when required, it is not just a place to to learn and come back it is a place to be loved and nourished for the abilities you pose to the world. These guys make you the best YOU can be not just others' expectations. With regards to people who have disabilities, in my opinion Funtech gives them all the support needed, it does not matter what grade you come up with all that matters is that your future is secure. Many children in this world don' t have the opportunity to have such a great place as Funtech, they cannot afford it. I say be thankful for this chance that many people just don't have and make your time here worthwhile. this comment is not just 'Propaganda' that Funtech has forced me to say but it true and from the bottom of my heart would like to thank all members of staff and Shen for giving people such a great chance to succeed. It is a very harsh world out there if you don't work hard you WILL get left behind, be thankful to Funtech. I have been a student at Funtech for not a very long time but once again I would like to sincerely thank once again all members of staff. I started attending FunTech one year after it originally began and I went from programming Lego to Achieving an A-Level in Computing, I always found the staff extremely helpful and enthusiastic, pushing me to achieve my full potential. The FunTech experience definitely changed me for the better and gave me the "can do" attitude to every aspect in life.

FunTech view each student as an individual and cater for each persons needs bringing the best out of them.

Wow! My son Mike began studying A Level Computing at 13 and completed it with an A grade at 15, before even sitting his GCSEs.

FunTech has been truly inspirational, setting him on a path toward what I know, as an IT professional, to be the best career in the world. They even helped arrange a work experience placement at Microsoft. FunTech repeatedly go the extra mile.

But how did we get here?

Mike’s mum found a FunTech advert, and we took him for an assessment. I was impressed, they weren’t just taking students regardless of suitability but ensuring the right fit. They saw potential in him that the 11+ had not.

Rather than the beginner’s course we had considered, FunTech recommended a more advanced path. Looking at the skills they suggested, I wished more of the CVs I received for my business had these very abilities, these were the candidates I hired.

Mike thrived, and one success led to another. Before we knew it, he was ready to take an A Level in Computing, before his year group had even sat their GCSEs!

The BIG decision

I was concerned, was he too young to balance this with schoolwork? Would he have the maturity to manage the demands?

FunTech was supportive, professional, and balanced, always clear that schoolwork came first. In the end, I backed Mike’s enthusiasm, and looking back, I am so glad I did.

A Standout Sixth Form Application

When applying for sixth form, we were constantly told that the key to securing a place was GCSE results, GCSE results, GCSE results.

While other parents worried about predicted grades, I asked how Mike’s early A Level would be viewed. Thanks in no small part to the foundation and inspiration FunTech provided, he now has the freedom to choose his sixth form, rather than waiting to be chosen. Every school he applied to is keen to have him.

The teachers were very comforting and encouraging by providing a safe environment for everyone but the best thing I've learnt from FunTech is essential for working: TouchTyping (the ability to type without looking at the keyboard). William had a fantastic time at your wonderful camp. He met some fun friends and learned some awesome skills. You do a great job teaching your information to a difficult age group and I applaud you!

I did several courses at FunTech when I was younger - touch typing, a crash course in programming, film editing and finally my GCSE a year early. 2 years ago I graduated from university with a first class degree in Web Design.

The teachers at FunTech were encouraging, helpful, age-appropriate and really helped me to get into something which has become my career, thanks to the effort and enjoyment I had from it at a young age. They push you hard where needed and I have them to thank for the grades I came away with. Thank you!

Funtech has been nothing short of transformational and life changing for my son.

Through Funtech he got two A stars at A level in Computer Science and Mathematics and is now off to study Computing and Maths at Bristol University.

What was particularly remarkable was how Funtech recognised his aptitude for Maths. Initially, he was only doing Computer Science, and they encouraged him to start Maths as well, a subject his highly selective, fee-paying school never even suggested for A level.

Funtech do more than teach very well. They are genuinely passionate about their students and do everything humanly possible to inspire, interest and motivate their students.

I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I went to a series of one on one tuition sessions for most of a year, to help with an extended project qualification I was doing at the time, involving writing a mod for Minecraft. I had originally intended to use various online tutorials to learn programming techniques, but there were none available which were designed for a beginner and actually explained what the code was doing. My tutor was very good at explaining these things, and I was able to quickly progress from explanation of the language to guidance on how to interpret the code, to creating simple mods and ultimately the mod I had originally hoped to make. He was also willing to spend time outside sessions investigating relevant parts of the code which he hadn't encountered before. Although there were still bugs present when the sessions ended, I had learnt enough to be able to fix (most of) them by myself over the holidays, and got an A* for the project. The programming experience has since been very useful to me in my studies in the computational parts of my university course (mathematics).

Funtech noticed my son's strengths as soon as they met him a few years ago and on hearing this from such cool people, it boosted my son's confidence more than you can imagine! My son is dyslexic and has a slow processing speed, and with the excellent support from all the teachers and staff at Funtech he completed his GCSE IT 2 years early and was thrilled to get an A. I am very proud of him and also grateful to Funtech for spotting him all those years ago and giving me the confidence to let him fly with his GCSEs. He learnt a lot about how to study too, his way, which he can now take through to his other courses. The staff are engaging, fun, knowledgable and most importantly - cool!

3D Design is AMAZING

I had loads of fun on this course and learnt so much its even inspired me to start designing my own models at home and to become a real video game character modeller.I also found out about holograms and 3D printers.Would do again

I did a daytime camp about 3D design and i absolutely loved it! It was the best! We got to create our models, 3D print them, play a game with them in it and even see them in a hologram! It was the best week ever and i totally recommend it

I like how we can make our computer do something. I like this class because the teacher can answer my questions and explain it properly. I also like this class because there are videos so that we can understand the lesson better. I'm sad that this is my last coding class.

Great Time

We had a great time and the tutors are very helpful and made it super fun. We did fun things and they explained everything very well. They would help everyone and the videos we were showed were super helpful. I would do a course with FunTech again :)
