Worth doing for a week or longer

IT'S THE BEST!

My teacher's nice, he's really good at coding, he's a genius. My favorite part was building structures with the mods i created.

Amazing Camp

this was a VERY fun camp. I learned a lot about making games with actual graphics I python in this course. i feel way more confident coding a game, than I did before this course. I loved this camp.

Python gaming - very fun!

I had a great two weeks on my python game developing course, I learnt new code but also built up on existing knowledge. Highly recommend if you have had a bit of experience with Python before.

Excellent as usual

I truly enjoyed this course as it built on my limited experience of Python at school. All tutors our class had were patient, forgiving and humoured. Thank you so much for the experience and I would reccomend Funtech to anybody who wants to learn skills on technology for later life.

fun experiance

although we are experiencing a hard time due to the pandemic, the FunTech crew has brushed it of and have managed to make the camps just as fun despite only virtual courses being allowed. They have done a great job and deserve big credit for giving me a really fun two weeks.

It is great

It is really good and great as you get to make your own game which is really cool. You can also choose what you want to do with it sometime which makes your game nice and unique.

I've thoroughly enjoyed every day of the Python Game Developer course, as I've learnt new skills, created a personalised game, and had fun whilst doing it. The resources available are great, and the extension tasks that are provided are useful to secure the knowledge I've learnt. Overall, the factor that has impressed me most is the quality of the tutoring; they're always available and willing to help with the tasks or extension projects, are very patient with the younger members of the groups, and occasionally stay on overtime to help with tricky concepts or go beyond what is taught in the course. All in all, an amazing experience all round!

I am really interested in game development, and love playing Roblox, so I thought I would try this camp. I thought correct! Koni helped me and my fellow peers to understand the basics of Roblox game development and by the end I had made a game I was proud of. Thank you FunTech!

What's good about Funtech ??

Everything is good about FunTech. Even though I am not too keen on homework it is still good to do because then you can revise on what you did in the lesson and make sure you understand what you did. The staff and teachers are really nice and they got me through my GCSE when I was only in year 8 ...

Everything is good about FunTech. Even though I am not too keen on homework it is still good to do because then you can revise on what you did in the lesson and make sure you understand what you did. The staff and teachers are really nice and they got me through my GCSE when I was only in year 8 and I got the grade. They are always here to help and make sure you understand what to do. I have done many of the courses that FunTech offer and they have all been great and very interesting. The summer courses they offer as well are very good and a lot of fun. I really enjoy FunTech. xxx

Great Courses!

I have thoroughly enjoyed all the different courses that I have taken part in at Funtech - Whether it was Stepped Approach, Programming or A-Level Computing, the teaching is great and the classes are fun and enjoyable.

Touch typing made fun

FunTech has inspired my 10 year old son to start learning to touch type, stick with it and become pretty competent at it within a few months. They've been great at pushing, encouraging and rewarding him and making learning a new skill good fun.

I completed the 1 year ICT GCSE at FunTech during the 2008-2009 academic year at the age of 12. Prior to this course, I had attended a couple of the holiday courses. The holiday courses taught me various different computer related skills and I enjoyed them so much that I decided to commit to the GCSE course. Despite only doing my GCSE whilst in Year 8 at school, it taught me a lot about exam preparation and skills that were very beneficial to me as I progressed through my work at school. This meant I was less nervous about what to expect when I started my GCSEs because I already had some experience of them unlike my school friends. In addition to this, my FunTech experience encouraged me to present my work to a really high level. I am currently sitting my AS-Levels in Geography, German, English and Psychology. I really enjoyed my time at FunTech and found the teachers fun and approachable. They were really supportive and took a real interest in both your FunTech and school work.

I attended FunTech between 2002 – 2005. During this time I completed the 1 year GCSE and Computing A-Level courses. My time at FunTech was very beneficial because I completed the 1 year GCSE before I took my other GCSEs at school, which gave me a head start on my peers in relation to external GCS...

I attended FunTech between 2002 – 2005. During this time I completed the 1 year GCSE and Computing A-Level courses. My time at FunTech was very beneficial because I completed the 1 year GCSE before I took my other GCSEs at school, which gave me a head start on my peers in relation to external GCSE examination preparations. The course was fast paced and consequently very enjoyable. I started my AS-Level during my final years of GCSEs at school, which helped me substantially with my organisational skills, but once again prepared me for the change in academic demand associated with the transition from KS4 to KS5. Finishing the Computing A-Level a year in advance of my others at school was a huge advantage because universities accepted it as part of my conditional offer, which took the pressure off during my final school examination year.
Since my time at Funtech, I have completed a Biology Honours degree at University followed by a Science PGCE at Oxford University. I am currently working as a Science Teacher at a school in Oxfordshire whilst completing a part-time Masters at Oxford University alongside my teaching timetable.
I would recommend FunTech to other people. An extracurricular commitment to a course at FunTech is not only a great way to develop your computer skills; it is a fantastic opportunity to enhance the other transferable skills, such as time management and independence that are essential for further education and future employment.
