I really liked it

I really liked it, and I learned a lot, but we got through things quite slowly.

A pretty good week

The week was quite good but it was a bit boring at times. like at the start of the week lots of people had problems with there software and it was quite annoying to wait for them to fix it so we can carry on. but apart from that it was good

Scratch coder

It has been good but some times it is tough to cope with the noise and everone is shouting at the same time and asking question but i have really enjoyed learning about scratch and making games it is really fun!

Python coder

I think that the python coder is fun and I like the way the course works but the only thing I would have to say is that it took quite a while to get round toe everyone but that's the same with every course I guess

Very interesting experience

The coursework was fun and insightful, the tutor was very nice, and I felt confident to produce my own projects after I had learnt everything. However, sometimes the lessons were disruptive (but it was rare).

I liked this course and it was very fun but i would suggest adding a little more to learn because for the last three days we just made our own projects because we had previously finished all their was to learn. I feel that funtech handled the bizarre situation of having everyone do it at home very well, and most technical issues were sorted on the first day. I would recommend this course to 7 - 13 year old, or beginners and it is quite basic python.

they course and teaching was great i went from printing statements to making games but it is not a 5 because at the start it was quite unorganised ans slow to get to the course (E.G: people not having right stuff downloaded because they weren't told how to on their operating system)

I really enjoyed this Funtech course, but I had high expectations and this did not exceed them. However, I learnt as much in these two weeks that I would otherwise have learnt in a few months. This was achieved by how interactive this course was , and quite surprisingly so as it was online. However, interactive does not mean fun, and this course was not exactly fun. Because that would not be possible. But the end project was. It was a really fun way to end the course, and I really liked this. However, what massively let it down was that I could not view the content myself. This was a big shame, and I think the course would really benefit from that. If that changes, I would heavily recommend this course anytime.

I found my work quite pleasing after this experience of funtech even though I have just started coding using unreal. But during the course I found I went through many problems in my code 3/5 of them were me trying to find something. In the end I made a game that worked properly and functioned as I wanted, after making my game I realised that I could have achieved quite a good game if I learned more. So overall my experience of funtech is about in the middle 3/5 and 4/5.

Happy I'm now a Minecraft Engineer

Great Course!

I enjoyed learning how to make games using python and pygame. I especially liked learning how to use functions and classes to make our lives easier, saving us time, code and memory.

The course was good.

I recommend this course if you like to design and fairly simple code. I recommend the virtual machine if your laptop can't handle unreal engine.

If I knew someone who wanted to learn how to code, I'd recommend Fun Tech because of how fast it teaches you things. my only complaint about this course is that it uses Construct, which has extremely confusing mechanics, but as this is a course for kids, they wouldn't understand C#, so that can't be changed.

It was very good and the tutor taught me very well but the course was a bit long

How much I enjoy scratch and fun tech.

I think it was an awesome camp because i learnt so many things that i could not do in the past like create a platformer and recreate pong one of the first computer games ever!!!
I personally think that it was absolutely amazing!

Fun tech

This course is very fun and exciting. Almost everyday you learn something, also you get to make small project. The most fun is the large project at the end.

I enjoyed the course because it was so easy and simple to follow while your able to learn a lot at the same time. The smaller simpler projects were the best because you could learn a bit and use all of your programming knowledge you have learnt so far to create them.

One thing that could be improve is that you listen to the teacher talk and watch them explain and then you have time to write the code after that, instead of doing both at the same time, rushing and you then won't learn as much.

I would recommend this course to others who want to learn the basics of python.

A very good course with some disruption from others

The course and its contents were very enjoyable, and the tutor was very nice. However, there was some disruption from the other pupils in the first few days (but these will likely vary overall due to the different classmates).

I quite enjoyed it overall, (besides my technical issues and having to use the virtual stuff) and I recommend this course to people who want to learn java (not with the pandemic either), I loved how it was almost a non-virtual course, and how a lot came out of it! It was a great 5 days, and I managed to get most of it done. :D

I wanted to give it a 3.5- There was not an option. The first day was filled with recapitalisation that I found extremely useful and easy to follow. Over the next days we zoomed through making a basic game, we were ahead of the schedule-however I wished we went a tad slower as I would of liked some of the individual lines explained. Either way I was still after which I am grateful for. In the second week we made our games unique, we were supported by the teacher and had plenty of fun! Overall the one thing that I assume would happen in normal circumstances -that did not happen- was seeing each other... if some of the other students had cameras on , and if we played each others games, I believe it would be even better! Thank you !!!

From a newbie coder's point of view

"Actually quite fun" - for someone who has no knowledge of coding to one who is adamant he has to get his code correct and play the game he just created. Good fun and 2 weeks pace is just nice to dip into Python for a 12 year old.

Sometimes both he and I felt that too much content was being presented in a single session - particularly when learning about gates. One thing which could usefully improve the camp would be having a pdf document with some notes to refer back to, both during the course and after it has finished.
