When I booked it, I thought the course seemed expensive but I do think it was well worth the money. My son was so engaged in designing and making his game and he’s learned a lot about the game designing process.
The children in my son’s group were moving at different rates which left my son with a couple of periods where he was waiting for guidance. Funtech recognised this and involved another tutor so that the kids could all continue to make progress.
The course content was great and the technology worked really well.
I’d highly recommend this course.

Interesting material and inspired pupils

I was very impressed with what I saw of the course. A tremendous amount was covered in five days, and it was definitely interesting enough to keep the pupils engaged and enthusiastic for the whole period. The admin and technical support was also superb.

Very good course

While Eloy was a bit bored the first 2 days, mainly because he already knew the basics, I mentioned it and the tutor gave him some extra tasks so he then started to enjoy it more and on the last week he loved it so much that he closed the door so we didn’t disturb him while he was thinking.

I was playing with him today thinking of how we could build the old 1980's game Asteroids, and he had some good ideas. Thanks for the great camp experience for him.

If there was any constructive feedback it's that there was one day where there was quite a bit of focus on maths which he found tedious, specifically, he didn't feel he learned anything new. Still, we reassured him, it was probably just a day, and the next day he was right back into it.

It was a fantastic experience for my boy age 8 to start with coding, Perhaps the hrs are a bit long for him and he tended to lose focus at the end of the lesson.

Good experience

My son had good learning experience on developing introductory coding skill through the camp. After the camp, he became able to make a game to play and understand how to apply it for the future project. The trainer was very kind and tenacious to take care of my son. Thank you very much.

Wonderful experience

Our 11 year old son had a wonderful time at his 3D Game Design virtual camp this summer. The first day was a bit challenging but thanks to the fantastic support he received from his tutor and the staff he ended up having an amazing time. Thank you so much!

Toby really enjoyed the two week Roblox course and I think it worked well that it was for the few hours on the mornings. He focused really well and I think the tutor was excellent. We also really appreciated that he took the time to give Toby some one to one help before a session after Toby had got behind on the previous day.
The only comment we have is that Toby would have enjoyed more class input as most of the other students had their cameras and microphones off the majority of the time so it was quite an isolated learning experience. He did another virtual course this summer where all the group interacted and did projects in groups together online. You've already addressed this with us however and I totally understand that you cannot require students to turn on cameras and microphones if they are uncomfortable doing so.

Artur said it was a very useful camp for him and it was a lot of fun. I noticed that at the end of the day he was quite tired but overall it was, hopefully, a quite useful experience for him - he is starting preparation for his IT GCSE exam from this September.

My 12 year old son has been learning to code online for a few years now and wanted to go a step further by learning from experts who could fill in the gaps in his knowledge and teach him to apply what he has learnt to real life projects.

Funtech met that need and then some!

I was especially impressed by the communication with parents, the attention they gave to the feedback from the students and the dedication of the tutors.
In my case I got 2 phone calls; one to discuss my son's feedback and another to arrange some extra time to help with his noughts and crosses project, which he really wanted to complete.

Thank you Funtech - we'll be back!

A very good interactive Virtual learning for my son. Support was available from day 1 which makes the learning run smoothly. My son enjoyed the 2 weeks session where he always look forward to every morning. This proves he loved how the camp is organised and does not bore him. :) plus point on that.
Overall, it was a good decision to enroll our son and have found FunTech to develop the learning of codings for kids. Good job on making it professional and fun way in teaching kids in that age group and keeping them focus and attentive throughout the lesson. And also managing their time keeping.

Well done and will definitely look forward to enroll him for future sessions.

My son thoroughly enjoyed this course and felt the level of teaching was good and well levelled for his age group (11-12). The breaks were well timed and he learnt a lot. He has asked to do a term time course as he enjoyed it so much.

In view of the current restrictions around the pandemic our son's Funtech camp was cancelled and a virtual camp offered instead. Initially we were unsure this format would work for him, especially after 4 months of remote learning at school, but he absolutely loved it. He was keen to start every day and diligently followed the instructor. He was even offered extra time when he briefly fell behind. We thoroughly recommend Funtech for kids of all abilities!

Got my 12 year old daughter enrolled in a 2 week "online camp" for Java coding, after much of deliberation.
Pleased to say - she made the most of it and has found it very useful !

I was worried about whether an online concept of a camp would work with my son, who has attention difficulties. Now I know that he can sit and concentrate on something that he loves doing for hours at a time! I thought the whole set up was well handled, the tutor handled the kids really well and they were prepared to modify the course slightly to make sure that my son was not bored as he had already taught himself a lot of the starting content.
