July Summer Camps for Kids in 2020

What with the rotten weather we are currently having, it’s no wonder that thoughts are starting to turn to summer and planning for the school holidays. Whilst summer is still a little way off, we all know how quickly time can pass. Before you know it, July will be upon us.

So, with that in mind, we’ve put a list together of our most popular July summer camps to keep your kids entertained out of school.

If your child is yet to come to one of the FunTech summer tech camps, here’s a short overview of what to expect. Then if you scroll down further you can see a selection of some of our most popular July tech and coding camps that still have spaces available.

  • Designed for girls and boys aged 7 to 16.
  • Camps run through July and August.
  • Kids attend daily, Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.
  • Ofsted registered.
  • Childcare vouchers accepted.
  • Structured (and fun) learning.
  • Over 21 years of experience.

FunTech’s July summer camps offer a range of fun topics including subjects as diverse as 3D printing, robotics, computer programming, video game design, stop motion animation, cyber security… plus courses based on popular interests such as Lego Robotics, Minecraft, and Roblox.

July coding and tech camps in London and UK

Our July summer camps run in a range of venues throughout London, plus Chester, Maidenhead, Milton Keynes, Oxford, Tonbridge, and Reading.

But what about the summer camps themselves?

Well, to see all of them, please visit our courses section, or you can browse some of the most popular camps below.

#1: Minecraft with Mods – Ages 7 to 10

If your child loves video gaming and in particular the hugely popular Minecraft, then this is the ideal choice to keep them occupied over the July school holidays.

In this July summer tech camp, your child will uncover the secrets of Minecraft, and then move onto modifying the game by developing their own blocks, items, creatures and even the Minecraft landscapes themselves.

If your child is a little older and more advanced, then you might be interested in our Minecraft Engineering (with Redstone) camp for ages 9 to 12.

#2: Lego Robotics Junior – Ages 7 to 10

Our July Lego summer camps lets kids create their own robots whilst learning about advanced programming techniques.

This July coding camp is chock full of fun and exciting challenges set to not just test the limits of your child’s robot, but also your child’s own creativity. Kids are taught how to navigate through various robot challenges such as Maze Mapper, Cube Control and the epic Robot Wars.

#3: Code-a-Bot: Robot Wars – Ages 10 to 14

Robots are set to transform the world as we know it, in particular how future careers are going to map out. With that in mind, isn’t it better that your child learns how to control and manipulate them? We believe so, and on this FunTech summer coding course, your child will design and build their own LEGO robot which is then sent into battle.

Learning to use command tools to make complex programs including pathfinding algorithms and gyroscopic navigation, they will test their robots in events such as Maze Mapper and Cube Control.

#4: 3D Modelling & Printing – Ages 10 to 14

Applying industry standard techniques, from 3D extrusions to 3D digital sculpting, your teenager will transform a simple geometric cube into a model created from their imagination.

Along the way they will learn tips, techniques, and associated best practices for 3D Modelling.

#5: 3D Game Design Summer Camp – Ages 10 to 14

This 3D game design camp across July can turn your kid’s love for video games into something more tangible and beneficial – an introduction in how to design their own 3D video game with the support of our experienced tutors.

This coding camp includes the fundamentals of video game design as your child learns the skills required to develop a seriously impressive multi-platform 3D application.

Each day is packed full of fun exercises, structured learning, and impressive video game projects that will capture a kid’s imagination and unleash their inner creativity.

#6: Java Coder – Ages 11 to 16

If your child is a little older and already has some exposure to computer coding, this faster-paced July summer camp could be just the ticket.

Our tutors will help your child to get to grips with some core coding practices and come the end of the weekly course they will be able to bring their own game home.

#7: Cyber Security: Hackathon – Ages 11 to 16

Our newest July tech camp is our Cyber Security course; it’s ideal for kids who want to learn how to hack but with a core difference – how to hack responsibly and ethically for good means.

What do we mean by that? We will teach your teenager different techniques that hackers use to gain access to systems, and how to prevent this from happening.

There is a growing demand for cyber security experts in the UK. This tech summer camp will offer ethical hacking classes that could set your teenager on the route to a very interesting career.

Don’t know which July summer camp is best for your child?
