This course has taught me so much about cyber security and I can definitely take this further if I want to, which I really do. The day is well structured and the material taught is very thorough and informational. There is lots f information to absorb but my teacher gave me a cheat sheet to take with all the commands on, this really helped. The only improvement I have is to increase the number of tutors on a course. I only had one and this was a problem at times when everybody needed help on different things. I would highly recommend Funtech and this course to anyone. This was not my last time here, for sure!

pros: great teacher (very patient) interesting topic, and lots of linux skills learnt.

cons: annoying kids in the class and in the break room , needed more managing.(2 break rooms) Computers could be ridiculously slow at times, otherwise the course was great.

The teacher was also very polite and was able to teach things well.

I would definitely recommend this course to anyone that wants to get into cybersecurity or know the basics of how to hack.

Last day at Funtech

I think I really enjoyed the coding camp. I was able to learn new things abut hacking and maintaining high security on a computer. Although, it was a rough start for me because I am quite unexperienced with coding, I was able to learn new commands that I could easily remember.

Mostly good

The camp was super fun.
The tutorial videos were a bit lagy though and for the metasploit exercises it didn't specify what we had to do which made our teacher very confused and frustrated. Overall great camp.

Excellent!

Overall, I really enjoyed the camp. Despite not being here one of the days, I was able to catch up quickly. Everyone was very nice, and it was an all around great experience.

I had a very enjoyable experience. I completed the residential hackathon course and it was really worth while. We learnt about the Linux operating system, ad the basics of its operations. I learnt a lot and hope to use my newly learned knowledge later on in life.

I have to say the entertainment and social side of the course wasn't completely tailored for slightly older kids 14-16, but I did make friends and thoroughly enjoyed the time. Tutors were FAB!.

Once again I recommend this course, for the experience gained along with the course learning.

This week has been a very good one, and it went too quick! We have learnt so many skills from this course that will allow us to be able to bring this knowledge into the future, and possibly take work with these skills. One suggestion I would like to make would be to have an OnBoard subscription thingy for the hackathon, so that could allow students to be able to practice these skills and make them better than before. However the week in general has been really good, and I want to do this again at some point! If you have any more complex courses, please do let me know :)

Very entertaining time with a very interesting course. Very easy to make friends with a supportive pastoral team. However the activities were targeted towards the younger people much more than to the older students which made meant that they were less entertaining for us older children. The course was challenging but at the same time very rewarding for when you were able to solve the problems.

Funtech camp- review

This week was great. I learned so much and had great teachers who guided me through my learning. I enjoyed the activities e.g game night, movie night etc.. the reason for this is because it added things to do. In my opinion this was one of the best and most fun camps i've done.

A nice experience. The classes have been fun and the people very nice. It is true that sometimes it has been a bit difficult for me to follow but in my opinion it is worth it, I have learned a lot.

I really enjoyed this week of Hackathon in FunTech! It was a great experience, as I have not done anything like it before! I learned new terminology and interesting ways to hack into other virtual machines. The tutors of this course were great, helping whenever possible, and overall it was a great experience! The only downside were the physical laptops, which some were slow. Apart from that however, I would give five out of five stars for this course!

The summer camp was so fun and an amazing experience the activities were so enjoyable and making friends was fun and easy. If you do the accommodation rather than daytime the rooms were stunning and so comfortable very clean. Overall this experience was very educational, fun and unique.

My child really enjoyed this course. He has attended quite a few over the years eg Python, Java etc but he really loved this one. I would definitely recommend these courses.

This camp has been a very enjoyable experience and I have learnt a lot about hacking. We had a very good instructor, Max, and we learnt about a lot about computing and how hackers are able to perform the actions they do. We learnt about different protocols and ways to make malicious code that can be used to hack into different devices. I also had fun at break and lunch times, where we played card games and Jenga and played outdoor games at lunch such as Bulldog and Capture the Flag. I would definitely come again.

Funtech camp 2022

I had a lot of fun at FunTech.
I learnt a lot of coding and tools on the software and I have taken lots of notes.
I also had a lot of fun with my peers and other people at the camp.
Overall, it was a really great experience and I look forward to using the skills that I have learnt in the future!

CyberSecurity course was very good

The Funtech course was both informative and fun. I learned many Unix terminal commands and how to use hacking tools. This course could help to get skills for a job or increase the security of a home computer

It is very fun and interesting.

It was very interesting learning about cyber security and different ways to hack into machines and websites. It also teaches how to not get hacked yourself .

My days at funtech

This is a very good camp and i have learn a lot of things. Hacking is really fun especially learning with my peers. I have made many friendships and they have made this camp even better. Learning hacking teaches me a lot of things about all the commands that you can use.

This course was very enjoyable and we learnt a wide range of skills from password cracking to hacking websites and servers. The environment was relaxed and friendly and we had a lot of freedom. However, it may be helpful to know that the course is largely based on Linux, and the devices and websites we hacked had outdated operating systems and code, meaning they were far more vulnerable than websites and devices today.
Overall, I enjoyed this course and learnt a lot, I believe it is certainly worth trying.

Educational, relaxed, and overall very fun. Covers a decent range of topics from social engineering to password-cracking. The one flaw with this course, in my eyes, is the fact that it is very Linux-based. The systems you use and hack are all running on (mostly outdated) Linux operating systems, which are much more vulnerable than modern Windows or Mac systems. This in mind, it is still certainly worth the 4 stars I give it.

It's a pretty great course. It teaches you how to hack different Linux servers and websites through vulnerabilities, social exploitation, password hashing through different checksums, remote connections between two computers, how to mount folders onto servers so you can access data, using programs like hydra, BeEF, OWASP ZAP, metasploit, nmap, enum4linux, john the ripper, samba and hashcat. The course also has a detailed reference guide which is useful if you forget a specific command. This course also teaches you how to fully work around the Linux command line and make everything from folders to .PHP files. This is a very large, comprehensive, educational and engaging course that I'd definitely recommend to anyone interested in Linux, computer coding and hacking. Thank you David, the best and coolest Funtech teacher anyone could ever ask for.

Worth it? Definitely.

This funtech course was very interesting and educational, I've learnt how to crack passwords, hack into accounts and edit files all early stages of using white hat hacking. We used linux operating system using the bot kali which helped us with built in commands. Our teacher David was amazing, great fun and a brilliant teacher as he was helpful understanding and overall good at troubleshooting any problems. Was a great course again and you should definitely do it. It can get sometimes a little rough but you have to figure out where you go wrong which is what hacking is all about. In addition during the breaks, we would play in the playground and play games such has werewolf or more commonly known as mafia in the classrooms (very exciting in the dark ;) ). In doing this we got to socialise with other people in different classes and I have even made some friends who I've been granted consent to contact and play games with. It was a very fun camp and I highly recommend.
