Hackathon was fun and it was interesting to learn and to hack into computers. I enjoyed the camp and would reccommend it.

He learnt lots, made friends and it has helped him firm up his education choices for his future. His tutor was engaging, relatable and taught him a lot. Thoroughly recommended.

Very fun and interesting week, learnt a lot and had fun with tutors and other students. Well-structured day due to the frequent breaks and long lunch, the course was interesting and useful and there were very few technical issues. Day 5 was the best day because I got to put to use all of the skills and techniques I had learnt during the first four days and it felt satisfying when I completed each task.

Big thanks to my tutor Hibah for being kind, understanding and knowledgeable.

Would definitely recommend and 100% worth the money.

A good camp

This was really fun and I enjoyed learning all the Linux commands and using them to hack into multiple servers. I recommend this camp to everyone interested in cyber-security.

My time at FunTech was amazing. The tutor teaching the hackathon was great. We had so much fun hacking, we learnt a lot about stuff such as FTP (File Transfer Protocol) and HTTP (Hyper-Text Transfer Protocol). We even made some jokes about TPG (The Password Game). I learnt a lot about Linux and found out how to do things I would have never even dreamed of doing. This course was amazing and I really recommend you do this, especially if you have prior coding experience. The camp had a lot of funny moments and I really enjoyed it.

Great camp for people wanting to learn how to do some hacking, you can learn how to gain IP addresses and remotely hack into other Virtual Machines

Great club!

I’ve come here 3 times, and every time it gets better. I’d definitely recommend coming, because it taught me (and my friends) how to code properly. The staff are really nice too.

SO FUN! Definately worth it!

Hackathon was a really fun class! It was a little difficult at times but the teachers were really helpful and always made sure we understood everything. I’d definitely come to funtech again.

Cybersecurity Hackathon

This was great for my daughter of 16yrs. It was very engaging. She came home feeling tired. She learnt about vulnerabilities and a bit about using linux and VMs and networking. The instructors were good.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at FunTech's Hackathon course. My tutors (David and Toru) were very helpful. Toru was very good at making kahoots about our hackathon course and other general trivia and fun games in for our breaks and helping out. David was good at helping us out and fixing any problems we had with our commands. It was a very inclusive course as you did not need to know anything about the topic, and came out knowing lots. I absoloutely enjoyed the course but it was sometimes quite hard. But these hardships were quickly resolved with David or Toru helping us out! Overall, I would definitely give this course a 5/5.

However, one problem i had was the fact that we kept having to change server, as each one was a different level of hardness for hacking. But we got used to it eventually

I enjoyed this FunTech the most out of all the Funtech camps I have done. The work is sometimes challenge but I received a once-in-a-lifetime experience in term of education and info/knowledge. I managed to gel with some of my classmates despite the course only lasting 5 days due to Kahoots and other games. They tutors were amazing and helped us in times of need. I would recommend bringing a notebook as they provide so much information and material. Even my parents were very interested in what I was learning.

Great place to spend a week

Both my tutors were amazing and with one providing entertainment during the breaks and one who was amazing at helping with the course. Had such a good time and other people should definitely do this as well (if you are in to tech as it is quite information heavy) but great fun.

I can't think of anything to improve because the course was really helpful and covered most areas. Using programs like John, Hydra, Metasploit and BeEF was enjoyable.

Thanks David and Toru for a great experience. You are the GOATs.

My daughter enjoyed Hackathon very much and felt that she learned a lot during that week. The staff and the instructors were wonderful. My only issue with the Barbican location is that they were stuck indoors the entire day due to the lack of outdoor space. It happened to be one of the hottest weeks of the summer too. Ideally, it would have been great to have some proper screen breaks outside, but I understand why that was difficult, given the location.

Would like to thank everyone for an exceptional, amazing, enjoyable week for my daughter. The courses were at the high professional level, very informative and age appropriate. My child felt safe, entertained, the food was Amazing. I would highly recommend the residential camp for your child.

Great experience

My 10 year-old had a great time at Tonbridge. The camp was well-organized, with a good mix of classes, fun activities and regular timed- breaks.

A wonderful experience overall.

Cybersecurity Residential Camp

My son had a great week away at the residential cybersecurity camp this summer. His instructor was engaging and a great communicator, my son really enjoyed the course. The dormitories were super. Food was good.

We will definitely be booking again next summer.

It was our first camp with Funtech and we were not disappointed.

This funtech camp is extremely good

whilst in the camp I thought there was a good balance between learning new things and fun challenges to solidify your understanding of the topic, and also my teacher Sam was exceptional at teaching. Also the residential place that we stayed at was very big and the rooms are very nice.

We were so grateful that my son Krish got the opportunity to experience the residential camp at Tonbridge - Hackathon Cybersecurity.

The venue is stunning and it is a wonderful experience to learn in such a beautiful setting. Krish has been a student of term time classes with Funtech for a number of years.

I can truly say that Funtech is more than a corporate entity, everyone, all the staff, from the helpers to the Founder Sheineez genuinely care for the children and it is very refreshing to see and exceptionally reassuring as a parent. I could leave Krish with the confidence and full faith that he will be safe and engaged during his week long stay at Hackathon.

Krish was excited by what he learnt coupled with the confidence he gained from making new friends. I would love Krish to attend more camps and my only regret is we did not send him sooner!

The teachers were so friendly and helpful. They went over the most important aspects in cybersecurity. My kids learnt a lot. However, Arar has experienced bullying from the two boys who are 14 and 15r years old. The problem is that the trainers have no control on the students in class which may cause bit disruption in class. I would recommend more control policy on bullying. Other than that, everything was excellent.

Hackathon was a great introduction to cyber security and my daughter thoroughly enjoyed it.
It was delivered efficiently, professionally and with aplomb by the Funtech team right from enrolment through to completion.

The course has useful content as the kids understand the vulnerability of networks to hacking, learn about the concept of cybersecurity and how to distinguish between different hacking types. The course equips them to an extent with the skills to perform certain tasks related to cybersecurity.
The tutors were knowlegeable and friendly including those part-time tutors who are still undergraduate students.
The facilities were superb, including the single occupancy dormitory and the airconditioned classrooms, and even though the hardware was not always up to the requirements of the course, there were only minor issues and Funtech is committed to source more powerful macines next time.
I could not comment much on the activities offered as my son preferred the option of "sit in the shade" in the afternoon rather than engaging in the field games, but given this year's very hot weather, this was not for the lack of the choice but due to his preference.
Thank you for running this course after Covid delays, my son enjoyed it a lot.
