Python OOP 2 Review

We explored more on how Object Orientated Programming works with the tkinter module, making games like pong and tic-tac-toe (noughts and crosses) and I enjoyed it.

The camp was really well instructed and really helped us understand the basics of python coding. Our tutor was very helpful and made sure that he looked at all of our work thoroughly, supporting us if we had made a mistake. During the course, we also watched videos, which were very clear and concise, about each unit which aided our learning and enabled us to understand why we were using certain functions. Overall, the camp was very good, and I would certainly come back again.

Thanks for a great course with our 10 year old son. It was his first online coding course and he loved it. The teacher kept him engaged and we were so impressed with our son's focus and astounded by what he managed to build within the week. It did exactly what it says on the tin and more, he is now super confident about building Roblox games and is continuing to build them. The structure was just right and the breaks well timed and the teacher was super patient with them all. Really recommend it and we look forward to completing more courses with Funtech.

Interesting course with great instructors

My 12 year old daughter and her friend thoroughly enjoyed the course with good care and coaching from the FunTech instructors. Highly recommended. Great accommodation for working parents.

It was a great experience for my son

I was nervous leaving my 11 year old for a week long trip but the staff (shoutout to Anil) were very helpful and assuaged my fears about the doors being unlocked. The course tutor was very knowledgeable and Ismail picked up some great new skills which can be transferred to every day life as well....

I was nervous leaving my 11 year old for a week long trip but the staff (shoutout to Anil) were very helpful and assuaged my fears about the doors being unlocked. The course tutor was very knowledgeable and Ismail picked up some great new skills which can be transferred to every day life as well. He is now a more responsible person and makes his own bed, switches off lights and picks up after meals by himself. I think this trip was very good for him because it taught him the importance of independence and taking responsibility for his actions. He made two games and a whole host of new friends. I will definitely be looking to send him again.

I would also like to say thank you to the staff who comforted Ismail when he was feeling homesick and let me speak to him when I was missing him too!

One little thing I would mention is to have better signposting when parents come to collect kids. We didn’t have any clue where to go or where to collect the suitcases from. Apart from that I can’t fault the programme in any way. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience.

My daughter had a fun time learning about coding in python and enjoyed the social activities too. A good way to spend a week of the holidays.

From the parents' point of view, the camp site (Tonbridge School) is beautiful and inspiring, the organisation of the camp (before and during) is functional and responsive, the instructions to prepare for the camp were clear, putting us in confidence that our son would have a safe and fun time learning programming. The technical learning was complemented by interesting and new (e.g. scuba diving) group activities, encouraging social interactions. The instructors prevented distraction by locking away his phone and restricting web access.

Fantastic learning experience

Ethan loved the Java coding course from day 1. The instructor Kevin was absolutely fantastic - friendly, helpful and regularly checking progress etc.
The pace was perfect and my son thoroughly enjoyed his course.

It was really fun.

The camp was amazing, i learned a lot of new things and doing the last project was amazing as well! The tutor was really friendly.

I really liked how the lessons were structured(especially the units and checkpoint questions). sometimes the videos were slightly confusing but it was mostly explained by the tutor which was helpful.

I thought that it was a good experience to expand my knowledge on minecraft redstone and I thought it was nice to be taught some things about JAVA redstone.

i felt like my week went really well as everyone was kind and we did a lot of fun activities. it was also very fun when we got to try each others games

I found this course soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo helpful!! I learnt how to make repeaters, clock circuits, use redstone pistons and doors, and pressure plates! I have learnt soo much from this course, and I would definitely recommend to people starting out Minecraft!
