Fun Tech is fun as the experience is calm and the teaching is good . I feel like coming to this course , i have learnt a lot of stuff because when i came i had no idea about what java was.No i know stuff like functions and arrays. If i could improve i would make break and lunch have more activist

Fun Tech is fun as the experience is calm and the teaching is good . I feel like coming to this course , i have learnt a lot of stuff because when i came i had no idea about what java was.No i know stuff like functions and arrays.

If i could improve i would make break and lunch have more activists as all there was only a ball .
Also more space would be better as the area was full with other people from different camps.

Overall very good

It was fun learning how to use java and implementing it into coding language. I hope I can do it again...

Good

FunTech has taught me a lot about java and coding and it may benefit me for the future. However after 3 days of doing it it starts to get boring because you don't really do anything that different. On the other hand, its was overall good because they teach you a lot about java.

It was very informative, but the videos they showed were slightly confusing at times. Luckily, our tutor added clarification.

Java Course Review

It was okay at first, but as the week progressed it started to get a lot more interesting, and the work gradually started to challenge you more. The staff are nice, but the safety is over the top for people of my age. Overall very enjoyable, would recommend.

Fun Course

It was Fun as Our Tutor Alex was very nice and we learned lots of thing like how to make a random number generator in java.

I learned a lot from this camp - all the basics and structure of java - and I really enjoyed it. However, during breaks and lunch I was bored quite a lot of the time as there wasn't much to do and it was too sunny to go out in the sun. Also when I had finished the challenges and tasks, the tasks etc - that were meant to be completed were quite monotonous and they usually were either too easy or took lots of effort which meant that the majority of the time I wasn't able to finish them. Despite this, I learned a huge amount from this camp and am sure that this will help me in the future. I especially liked the way that the materials and skills were taught - first the challenges and tasks were then consolidated by the tutor and if I needed any help, whether about the task or in general about java, the tutor was always there to help. I also liked that everything that we do in class we get to take home to reflect on it.

I really enjoyed this camp. It was pretty hard but very enjoyable. They took us outside at lunch. I would go again.

Johnathon was an amazing tutor. He helped out a lot. I had a lot of problems with my coding but he helped out with all of them. Johnathon was very dedicated to us students. Johnathon was an amazing tutor. He helped out a lot. I had a lot of problems with my coding but he helped out with all of them. Johnathon was very dedicated to us students. His assistant Lewis had a very big ego and made quizzes about himself. I preferred Johnathon but Lewis still helped when he was not tap dancing or reading poetry. The course itself was fun and I learned a lot about Java (mostly from Johnathon). I hope that Funtech camps continue to improve. The only annoying thing is that the voice of the man in the videos is irritating and I hate the background music.

Great course good fun i learnt a lot about java coding and stuff the only thing is there wasn't food which isn't a big issue i just like food though.

Although the coding is fun, I believe that the breaks extend further into the day than would be preferred, perhaps there could be shorter breaks for children who would rather spend their time coding than in the lunch hall.

Good, Could Improve

Great to Learn all the types of things you can create, I Really enjoyed learning about how to use User Input.
It was AMAZING! Did 3D Game Design once aswell, this was definitely better taught. You could improve by letting us on the 2nd to last/last day make an epic Game. Loved It!!!!!!!!!!!!

Funtech Is The Best Place to Start Learning Java

I found it really fun and interesting and I would reccomend it to kids who want to learn coding and other things

I learnt stuff and it was fun. there was no air con though so it was very hot.

This was the first holiday camp I have been to so I am unsure of how good Funtech is compared to other camps.
I had expected writing a lot of code and gaining a great understanding of it. In some ways this was achieved as the camp definitely gave me an interest in Java coding and has made me want to continue progressing my coding skills after the week. I personally think that this made the course worth while but I had been hoping to be focussing more on learning hard code than just enjoying time playing games or doing basic coding. Yes, of course one does need to start with the basics and this was good but I had expected that, for so much money, I would at least have a chance to become a bit more of a pro with Java.
One of the main reasons I say this is because we would finish all of the content planned for that day at about lunchtime or slightly afterward. This meant that we spent quite a lot of time on making games (which was very fun and was good practice) that could have been spent on possibly learning more code and progressing our knowledge.
Overall, price aside, the camp was great. There was a good balance between having fun and learning code despite the fact that I would have liked to learn slightly more.
The staff were all very nice; especially our teacher 'Kevin'.
In conclusion, a big thank you to Funtech. It was a fun week and gave me a good interest and foundation to Java.

FunTech is a really enjoyable summer camp. The tutors are great, the lessons are enjoyable and everybody at the camp had fun. I really enjoyed learning java for the first time.

FunTech summer camp

FunTech had a good way of learning and the Tutors were very helpful to all of us completing the course. I haven't been on any other tech camps so I cannot compare it but their was definitely no shortage of content in this course. The Tutors were well prepared and knew their stuff!

I enjoyed it and I had lots of fun.

Educational and fun.

Java has been very informative. I have learnt a lot although also had fun with the after coding residential activities e.g. self defence. Overall, a good way to fill time in the summer whilst learning.

Very interesting course

It was very good, I learnt a lot, but we were not allowed to play on the computers at break. This makes a child very sad! Educational side :) Break time side :( I recommend this course to people who want to learn code as they teach it very easily in an understandable way.

I really recommend this camp to anyone who wants to give coding a try. This course has taught me a lot about Java coding (using Eclipse) and Nathan was very helpful. I was able to make several basic games and the course was very interesting. However, don't expect to be playing games, because it is coding, not gaming.
The only thing which stops this from being 5 star was that there were not enough balls to use during break & lunch.

The camp was challenging but fun at the same time and the tutors were always there to help you. The only reason I haven't given it 5 stars was because we had to wait for the tutors to come to our computer and sometimes it took a long time. Also, in further camps, PLEASE INCLUDE WATER IN THE LUNCHES!!! :D :D ;D
10/10 would recommend

Sorry you didn't enjoy coding. Each day is 8 hours long you have two 15 minute breaks and 90 minutes for lunch, so only coding for 6 hours per day... though we can appreciate that if you did not enjoy it it felt like 10 hours!

I learn't all the basics with help on standby if I needed it. I learn't to code things that would have taken months of lessons in school because the course was devoted to one thing. At lunch and break we went outside and everyone joined in playing games to make sure we didn't hurt our eyes and don't stare at the screen too much.
My only problem with the course was that it became a little repetitive.

Funtech Review (Will Is best)

It's a fun experience, and a "Cool" place for any seeking coder, or just to have fun. But coding for 10 hours Is quite boring, and the breaks could be abit longer, because most people lose concentration (Me defiantly). To be honest James is the best coder, sorry Will :D
