It was quite fun and interesting although at the start of the course it was a bit frustrating because I already knew print statements.
FunTech Response
Sorry you found the first part of the first morning frustrating, however before we can move onto more challenging concepts, we need to make sure everyone in the group is at the same level.

My son thoroughly enjoyed the course and the tutor was brilliant! My only issue is the python dev environment. It was a bit intrusive for the tutors to have full control of our home computer. My son as a matter of principle and his age doesn’t have his own computer so has to use mine. Other
FunTech Response
I am sorry you found our virtual environment a bit intrusive.
However, rest assured that once the lesson has finished, we do not have control or access to your machine.
FunTech invests a substantial amount in this environment so that parents are confident that we will support their child for both technical issues that may arise or with any course content.
Delighted that your son enjoyed the course.

The course was good and the battleship task was challenging, however at some points it went a bit slow.

Wish you had told your tutor as they would have set you extension challenges.

The course was very informative and fun. I learnt a lot and using that knowledge at the end to create a project was very rewarding. However I found that not enough time was spend recapping the difficult topics. This made it so I had a very good understanding of most of the topics by the end but ther

My son enjoyed his week long residential camp with Funtech at Tonbridge. He learned a lot and from my perspective the camp was very well organised. While it's not Funtech's fault that some children are disruptive to the point of impacting negatively other participants' experience, nevertheless Fun
FunTech Response
We have a zero tolerance policy on any negative behaviour.
Sadly, this summer we had to ask for one child to be picked up on the Monday due to bad behaviour.
Without going into details there were a number of external factors that we were asked to consider, and against my better judgement and whilst I was having daily conversations with him and his parents, I took the decision to let it him continue.
The FunTech team at Tonbridge should not bear any responsibility for this.
I did consider moving him into a one-to-one group, however, I felt this might affect him negatively.
That said, in hindsight, I should have informed all the other parents of the children in his class, and perhaps we should have asked him to leave.
For this I can only apologise.

The course was really fun and beneficial to my knowledge of coding Python. However, for the past 3.5 days, we have just been coding games, which can get fairly boring after you have coded the majority of games.
FunTech Response
I am sorry that you found the last day and a half boring.
However, the idea behind the last day and a half is for you to put your python knowledge into action by coding a variety of different games.
To be a good coder, you not only need to know the constructs but need lots of coding practice which the tutors can help you with if you get stuck.
However, good to hear it was fun and beneficial.

The course was good. I learned a lot a lot on the course. However it was quite intense, even though there were several breaks, I felt like the day was very long and only a half an hour break to run around was not enough. However the course was defiantly worth it in the end for my final project.
FunTech Response
Our courses are packed full of learning.
We do have two 15 minute screen breaks in the morning and afternoon and then an hour for lunch.
Lunch we allow 30 minutes to have your lunch and therefore only have half an hour for activities, sadly we would not be able to increase this further.
Glad to read that you thought the course was definitely worth it!

These were not reviews, but feedback of how your session went, which we collect from every student.
We do this so that if you tell us you have not understood something, we can either bring you in for a prep or cover the concept again the next day.
Sorry you didn't enjoy writing them, but it's an excellent way to ensure we are doing our job and you are learning :)
