It was very fun as well informative, this was quite interesting as the teacher (Dylan) would give us each useful help for each of our need. Hacking the passwords was exhilarating especially when we cracked it!

Hackathon Happiness!

My son had a great time on the Cyber Security Hackathon camp. He is very interested in ethical hacking so this was the perfect camp for him. He loved the practical challenges as well as learning how to use new software and he's much more security conscious as a result of attending the camp.

Cyber Security Northwood

I enjoyed the course thoroughly and the Kahoots were very fun. This course slowly introduced the art of hacking and went from creating folders to using John the Ripper to hydra and everything in between. Overall, I found the entire course very fun and educational.

Really rewarding

Our son loved this course, it really piques their interest in how networks and interactions work. Hopefully he won't be on the FBIs most wanted list now. In all seriousness though, he really wants to come back and loved interacting with the other kids, thanks for all the 1:1 support!

The rating speaks for itself - this course was worth everything that was done to make it happen.

The "Hackathon" course focused on the use of Kali Linux, an operating system used by hackers worldwide, and was introduced to students like myself. The first-rate program taught myself and my colleagues how to use this tool to think and operate like a real hacker. The perfectly paced learning, the humorous atmosphere, the useful help of the teachers, all contributed to make this course instructive while having fun at the same time.

The main highlight of this course was when we got the chance to break into web servers, by brute forcing the credentials and altering cookie settings to reach and end goal on the web pages.

I would recommend this course to anyone who is curious about hacking, a term heard on a daily basis, and what some of the processes of hacking really look like.

Good course. (Hackathon)

It was an excellent course with intriguing ideas. We used Kali (Linux) operating system to hack into many servers. It was very fun and it taught me to implement many new devices in cybersecurity and to protect mine and other people's computers.

i found the course very helpful in trying to learn how to hack. I learnt a lot during this course and found it really enjoyable.

Great Dynamic.

I personally found that this course had a very relaxed atmosphere, but also contained a high amount of high level content, which truly changed my experience with computers. Although the content can be difficult, overall I had a great time, and I'm sure if you sign up you will too.

I did provide verbal feedback to one of your colleagues after the course but I'll try and summarise it, seems a long time ago already! Sophocles had been looking forward to the course for months and he enjoyed his time. The first morning was a little frustrating as despite the reminders you had sent, some children arrived without the correct software installed which delayed the start of the session. The pace of the first day was slow as the course caters for a wide age range and ability of children and there were no extension activities to complete, but he didn't make this known to the tutors. This improved on the second day after he had asked for further activities. They spent a long time in the same room, not sure if they went out much at breaktime and lunchtime to make the most of the school's play areas. I'd also have a mobile phone policy where the children hand them in and get them back at the end of the day otherwise they spend their freetime on more screens rather than engaging with each other. I know that all sounds negative, sorry it's not meant to be - overall it was something different for Sophocles, not something he would otherwise have learned about, and he is hoping to go into cyber security as a career so your tutors definitely did lots right (and it was great to see that they weren't all male

Great Week!

This is my daughter's second Funtech residential and she is planning her third! She thoroughly enjoyed herself, the course seems perfectly tailored to the right balance of learning and downtime.

We were looking for a tech oriented summer camp and came across Funtech's offering. We were intrigued by the hackathlon which seemed to align with our son's inclinations. We decided to give it a try, not sure if the level would be adequate nor if the overarching experience would be worth organising an international journey.
We were blown away. The whole thing is beautifully organised, the location is superb, the instructors extremely competent and going to a great length to ensure that kids leared and had fun.
Our son was so enthusiastic that he is already asking to go back next year. Rarely we had such an all-great feedback from him. He is thrilled, and so we are.

The hackathon was really an extrordinary camp, and I really enjoyed my time. We learned everything, from how to use Linux to how to hack into a seperate device. I really enjoyed my time and I really would recommend this.

Excellent stuff all-round - with engaging, exciting tutors - and appropriately designed interactive course content to complement. FunTech provided all of the required equipment for the course - with everything we needed to get started pre-setup before we arrived. You can expect: - A teaching ...

Excellent stuff all-round - with engaging, exciting tutors - and appropriately designed interactive course content to complement. FunTech provided all of the required equipment for the course - with everything we needed to get started pre-setup before we arrived.

You can expect:
- A teaching style quite different from that in the classroom
- Productive learning environment
- Tutors who can connect well to you (many being at university)
- Opportunity to connect with others

If you feel a little put off by the vague course description - rest assured - there's plenty of content - "fundamentals" on a different level. When you're not learning, you'll be doing something else productive with your fellow students - plenty of students in my class decided to create their own (successful!) viruses. Brilliant evening activities and food at Tonbridge. There's something for everyone - you've just got to be engaged.

You'll also be able to meet quite a lot of new people - from all kinds of ages. Other than the course content, it's a chance to learn more about others - especially for residential students.

If you've got remotely any kind of attention span at all, this course will make you happy. I wouldn't be writing such a long review otherwise.

P.S. FunTech do accept childcare vouchers, if that makes a diffference.

HACKATHON

I learnt so much, the people and teachers were great and we had a great time! We had so much fun hacking eachother, other classes, and even teachers! The residential part was also great and the activities were incredible. More scuba would have been good.
