Funtech is an exceptional company and personally, I genuinely enjoyed doing the Cybersecurity Hackathon course for several reasons. Not only was the tutor excellent, by helping us out considerably when stuck, but it
was engaging and taught me new skills that enhanced my computer science experience.
1. Learning how to ethically hack was interesting as we were starting to explore the darker side to technology and what to be wary of, e.g viruses and how people can crack your passwords
2. My tutor kept the lesson engaging by ensuring that we all understood the work as well as giving us useful tips and fun facts throughout the week
3. As the course wasn't overly easy or hard, I felt as if we were being challenged enough to learn useful skills from the course but at the same time it wasn't impossible to complete.
4. By learning how to execute commands like nmap, ping, grep, ifconfig, we also learnt how to apply it in real life scenarios and it also meant that we can look out for any weaknesses of the code and any way hackers could potentially hack into.
By the end of this course, I am proud to admit that I have all the skills a hacker would need but I have learnt to use them safely and in legal purposes only. This course will be exponentially useful to me in the future as I begin to learn more about coding and computers and head into the workplace.
Who knows? Maybe one day I will look back and realize that my love for coding stemmed from Funtech?
Having taken several Funtech courses since the age of 9, I believe that the course I have just completed was my favourite as it was not just educational, but fun as well.
The lead tutor deserves credit for managing all the behind the scenes work as well as making my time here enjoyable as well as joining our whole group in several games of cards. (always fun!)

Over the duration of this onerous but edifying and enriching course, our tutor, Dr. D, was extremely engaged, and effervescing with jubilant exultation, with an incandescent, flamboyant passion for the topic. He clearly elucidated the complex subject matters covered by this intriguing programme of study with great delineation, synchronous to the contemporaneous context of the lesson. The undercurrent of this tutorial period was one of intricate instruction and meticulous guidance from an educator with fervent and unbifurcated vision of accomplishment. Some of the areas of cyber-security covered over this week included: Vegan Beef and Hydra. Dr. D was infused with incredulous intellectual devotion and assisted us in the discovery of the espionage of the notorious FunTech Overlords, and of their discreet and inconspicuous recording devices. The lead-tutor at this camp also managed to teach us a Taiwanese card game that transformed into a contest.

Redstone engineer

i loved this coures because i learnt so much wile having fun in minecraft. the content could be a little confusing but the teacher helped us out i would deffently do fun tech camps again

Lego Robotics

I liked making robots in Lego Digital, doing challenges in Virtual Robotics and coding the robots in Lego Mindstorms. I liked making the robots most.

Amazing camp

I LOVED IT HERE!!!!!i recommend that if your a parent and your child likes coding or the idea of coding book a class. if your a child and like coding show your parents this website and ask them if you can go

Redstone engineering

It was really fun and I have learnt a lot of new redstone. The webex kept crashing for me, though, but I could hear the videos clearly. I think it needs to be a tiny bit more challenging, but overall it was great

Playing games and a class project

I liked playing the games I created. I wish we could do a class project so I can have fun with other kids and make new friends. And maybe out teacher can also play and go on an adventure with us like protect stuff in a village or castle.

Fun Tech Minecraft Game Coder

I have had so much fun at my FunTech camp. I have learnt so much about coding and Minecraft. I have enjoyed putting my skills toward making my own games and have learnt lots of new things. Ashlei has been a great tutor. I would definitely do another FunTech camp and would recommend it to a friend.

I really enjoyed the course. I have never used unreal engine before and now I know so much about it. I did struggle more than the others and when I needed help Alex really helped.

Great Course!

The course was easy to follow and taught me a lot about how to use unreal engine as someone who has never used it before. I enjoyed every lesson.

Booleans, floats, integers and so much more. by the end we were just doing our own levels with the skills we had used, and if we had a question we would just ask Oliver.

BEST CAMP EVER

THIS CAMP WAS BRILLIANT. OLIVER WAS A GREAT TUTOR, AND HE EXPLAINED EVERYTHING WELL. WHEN THINGS WENT WRONG HE ALWAYS FOUND A SOLUTION, EVEN IF IT TOOK A FEW DAYS.

My daughter completed the Python coding course. She had done a similar course with a different provider and I was able to make a direct comparison between the two. This course was much more organised, with the instructors monitoring the pupils' screens to make sure they stayed on track. It was very well structured and there was no 'time filling.' It also held her interest (after the introductory parts which I think she found a bit dull) for very long days.
All in all I think this deserves a 5* review. A very impressively run virtual club.

My daughter enjoyed the holiday camp immensely. Although she had not coded in Python before, she was carefully guided through the concepts and was able to apply what she had learnt and seemed very satisfied with her achievements. She was able to get on with the virtual course independently over the 2 weeks and looked forward to her classes each morning. Her teacher was fun and friendly and she thought he was fantastic. I can always rest assured my children will not be disappointed with a FunTech course.

This is the second time our 10 year old son attends a virtual course ( it was the minecraft redstone one) and we are already planning the next one!
We are quite pleased with the ease of booking and of communicating ( although I would note that it took a few days to get a response to some technical questions...) and we were kept informed throughout the course about any issues, every time our son would be logged out or if there were any problems at all, very well supervised. Very polite and helpful staff on the other end of the phone if needed.
Our son found the course extremely enjoyable and is very very keen indeed to attend again.
