Gaming is at the Heart of a Modern Day Childhood

07th May, 2015

Playing computer games are akin to an aerobic workout for your CHILD’S BRAIN

Children love to play games.  They invest an incredible amount of energy, focus and time into play.  Capturing this attention and using it to boost your child’s learning is something we are experts at.  Playing games offers a plethora of benefits to a child’s learning and development, and FunTech specialises in turning what is sometimes perceived by parents as ‘passive play’, into positive learning.  Video games enhance mental skills by improving concentration, problem solving and logic, plus bolstering maths and reading skills.

One of the keys to success is to enable youngsters to go behind the scenes to become proactive creators in a structured, fun and playful environment.  FunTech’s 3D Game Design camp, for example, encourages children to craft their own vision of a 3D Game whilst honing their skills in building game strategies, game maps, way points and re-spawning areas.

FIRST TASTE OF CODING…

The magic truly begins as their learning evolves and the students are introduced to a scripting lab; giving them their first real taste of coding.  From here their journey continues as they apply their knowledge to join a multi-player game, and begin to learn about networking.

If your child, for example, is introduced to programming skills necessary to create games through courses such as FunTech’s 3D Game Design, it becomes a much more rewarding experience and increases their development.  Learning and applying game design is a fun and creative way into computing concepts and coding basics.

Teaching coding or rather programming, which when implemented brings digital services to life, allows a child to develop the right skills to make the most of ever-changing technology.  An important step for parents is to focus on the creative process that can be unleashed.

FunTech transforms the passion children have for gaming into a magical learning experience.  Kids can create their own games which they can share with friends, play together and rate.  Our Summer Day Camps and Residential Camps for the 3D Game Design course will turn your child's passive computer playing into proactive learning.  The course teaches your child to create their first game in a structured manner and then equips them with the tools and skills needed to continue creating their own games long after.
