Added Advantage

On completion of the Stepped Approach Series, FunTech students are able to translate their skills into a qualification, namely an International GCSE in ICT.

Majority of our students achieve their iGCSE early, which allows them to experience what is required of them before tackling ten plus subjects at school. This ensures that know what to expect and are fully prepared in terms of timetabling, how to achieve what is required in the criteria set out by the exam boards, revision techniques, exam techniques and lots more.

If your child has not completed our Stepped Approach Series, then they will need to attend an Assessment Lesson to ensure they have the required skill sets.

Course Description

  • Enables your child to contextualise all the application skills learnt during the Stepped Approach series, especially useful for our younger students.
  • Completion of mock projects against a set of criteria
  • Precision answering, but dissecting examination question formats, students will learn to identify what is being asked rather than simply writing redundant information based on ‘everything’ they know about the topic concerned.
  • All students will receive key NLP and mind mapping concepts to aid individual learning and revision requirements
  • How to work under time pressures, including timed practical’s and mock exam.

Course Description

  • This course is designed for students who have completed their Stepped Approach and would like to translate their skills into a qualification.
  • The syllabus is designed to be studied over two academic years, allowing time to digest and master the information taught.
  • The course progresses at a gentle pace and is more suited to either younger students or those who have very active schedules and have limits on available time.
  • Our Standard Track grades on average tend to be 20% Grade A*, 70% Grade A and 10% Grade B.
  • To date we have had two students who have achieved Grade C in their GCSE with FunTech, both of whom had extra educational requirements, namely, severe dyslexia and short term memory - (as of summer 2013)

Course Description

  • This course is designed for high performing students who are able to demonstrate outstanding practical ICT skills.
  • Students who opt for the Fast Track are usually highly motivated with a can-do approach, this is not the same as academically high achievers, just a positive attitude, the rest is our job.
  • Majority of our Fast Track students achieve a Grade A*/A occasionally we have had a peppering of high Grade B’s – though thus far never a Grade C (summer 2013)
